About

Good views

The tour was good and the castle had history but the building itself with all its reconstruction and furniture from other buildings meant there was a lack of authenticity. The views were very good and we had fun playing with the donkey and goats which we on the other side of the castle fence. There is some interesting grafitti on Olinda's cell walls. There was an art exhibition on when we were there.

Outside striking.....interior disappointing.

We came here by train. The castle is a 5 story tower house, built by the Cagno family, and passed to the Thun family in 1464. The outside is imposing and the chapel worth a visit. Vaulted ceilings, a spiral staircase, wooden paneling , and some frescoed rooms make up a not very interesting interior. Staff were friendly.

Nice castle if you are in the area

The original tower was put up in the 1400s and had been built up over the centuries. Not much to see inside, but some nice frescoes and a great spiral staircase.

Out of the ordinary is the visit to the frescoed cell of Olinda, the daughter of the castle owner who was apparently imprisoned there after trying to elope with a minstrel and died after a year of s broken heart. Noteworthy too is the graffiti on the walls, some dating back to the 19th Century and times when the castle, which also served as a farm, was less cared for.

Nice castle with friendly stuff

Nice stop on the way, nice view, beautiful gallery. Not worth getting her as a main destination, only if you are around. The reconstruction of the castle make it feel not authentic.

Beautiful and excellent food

We completed a tour of this spectacular castle and also had an excellent meal of local fare including local wines and desserts.

The tour is called "il Trenino dei Castelli" and departs from Trento. Covers four castles including lunch and guides.

Highly recommended.
