Sorrento ( next to Hillary's) is well worth considering if you want the all Australian Beach. The sea was calm in the morning and when the afternoon wind picked up became good for surf in the afternoon. A shark net makes this beach appealing. Seems reasonably safe seeing there's been 13 drownings over this period in Australia. No shelter so... More

There is a lot going on at this long beach but it does not seem to be too crowded (on the day we were here anyway). It was quite busy when we passed on a Sunday with the children on school holidays and it was a hot day. There is a shark net here to ensure safe swimming. The beach... More

Once 'remote', Sorrento is now part of suburbia but is still a lovely beach, slightly spoilt perhaps by groynes that were built to safeguard Hillarys Marina. Quite safe for swimming, no real surf but enough waves to have fun in, lifeguards on duty...bring a brolly for some shade.

My wife and I spent the last 4 days of our Australian holiday in Sorrento to relax and wind down before a !long flight home and the prospect of going back to work. It is a wonderful place with a white clean beach good restaurants brilliant sunseets and great walking and cycling. Our trip was filled with highlights and this... More

We came here daily. There were some great finds. The shopping was fantastic and there was plenty of quality and variety of restaurants. Loved it!

Very clean beach with good parking and very good amenities all round inc. outdoor BBQ areas, clean toilets and open air showers. Well served by local lifeguard service and a nice little coffee shop open from early until the Freo Doctor blows. Great for watching the spectacular WA sunsets.

Sorrento Beach is handily located next to Hillarys Boat Harbour and a huge free parking lot. It's a nice stretch of beach, and is quite popular in the late afternoons with boot camp classes. So maybe avoid late afternoons because you may not be able to find much spare beach. Otherwise it seemed like a nice beach.

A lovely beach near the sea. Since the road is behind some hills the traffic is not disturbing you. Nearby to Hillary Marina with good food and services.

Nice white sandy beach just south and close to Hillary's Boat Harbour. Swimming here involved battling 'stingers' in the water beyond the beach breaks (but common along some metro beaches during summer with good and bad days).
