A Steep Climb But Worth It
Sep 2019
We went to this little beach during the last week of September. It catches the sun and the water is warm and clear, which makes it great for swimming and snorkelling. There are many species of fish to see and some interesting rock formations to explore. The water is calm and safe for younger ones, but I suggest the wearing of swim shoes as some of the rocks can be uncomfortable for bare feet. It is a steep climb back up!

Stunning bay
Sep 2018 • Couples
A really beautiful little bay with a small beach (can get crowded) and rocks where you can sit also. The contrast of the azure blue of the water with the acid green of the pines is breathtaking. You need rock shoes because the rocks and urchins can be painful if trodden on but worth going in for a snorkle because there are lots of fish especially if you go round to the right (towards cala pigna). There is a bar just up from the bay so good for drinks and light snacks.

Breathtaking-but wear shoes!
Aug 2016 • Family
Cala Matana is a beautiful cove to swim, explore and hang out on the rocks. Wear water shoes though, as there are ricci di mare (sea urchins) and stepping on one is not fun!

beautiful but crowded
Aug 2016 • Family
this is a very nice little sandy beach in a cava which is not too far from the port. water is calm and transparent and ideal for snorkling. only problem is that around 12 am the small beach starts to get too crowded (but its a saturday end if august)
