Address
Neighbourhood: Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.

Best stores in Ginza area
Oct 2020
One of the Best stores in Ginza area
You will - definitely - find all your requirements. Most of the brands are there. Also Japanese products are so lovely. Tax refund will be given back in the department itself, before you leave. Staff is well experienced. Spending lots of money is guaranteed !!! the store is very near to the train station.

This food hall is a must see!

The size, the displays, the variety and quality is amazing! IMO, it rivals Harrod's in London and I can only concur with another commentary earlier that the hardest part is to make a choice of what to buy!

Great food mall

The variety of food sold in this department store is amazing! The prices were very reasonable. Some stalls even let us try some of their food first. The only problem you will have is making a choice!

My all time favourite
Oct 2019
This is the most sophisticated department store in Tokyo. I visited 3rd time in a row from 2017.
Quality never goes out of fashion and this is Mitsukoshi's philosophy.
Japanese tableware are so unique and beautiful in here!

Amazing department store
Oct 2019
If you are a shopper, this is the place to be! A 12 story department store with upscale designer brands. Even if you are a not a shopper, the bottom three floors are the “food court” floors. They are out of this world! The most beautiful food and everything you could possible imagine. The food floors are a must see! If you are looking for Japanese souvenirs, this is not the right place. This is upscale shopping. The 7th floor is fun and has good gift items and home decor. I like to shop so I enjoyed this department store. It is so elegant and the displays are just gorgeous.

Great Department Store
Oct 2019 • Friends
This appears to be the most upscale department store on the Ginza. Even if you don’t want to pay the prices, it is worth a visit. The 7th floor has traditional Japanese items. Fun to look at. There are several restaurants. The Korean restaurant was quite good.

Great store

Just one of the many wonderful shopping venues in Ginza, but a true gem if looking for some prepared foods, either sweets or savory. Two floors of deliciousness!

The grand old dame of Tokyo department stores
Jul 2019 • Solo
Mitsukoshi is the most famous and iconic of Tokyo's department stores. If you have the time, go and have a stroll around. If you have little time, at least visit the two basement floor food halls. The products on offer are superb, especially the fruit. The prices are eye-watering - peaches for 10 to 15 Euro a piece, strawberries for 5 Euro a piece, mangos for 20 Euro a piece - but what quality!!! The quality of Japanese fruit and vegetables is just so much higher that what you get in ordinary European supermarkets or stores. The cheese counter sells all types of European cheeses, but sometimes at a price 10 times higher than what you pay for exactly the same cheese in France or the UK.....

Large department store
Oct 2018 • Couples
This is a typically large and nice department store in ginza tokyo . Nothing special but does have your common stuff. Wanted to get a moleskin planner from the stationery department but they don’t have this department on all of its 12 floors. Luckily Itoya is 2 blocks away

Go! Even if only for the basement food hall
Jun 2019 • Couples
We had seen someone trying out the food hall on a video and wanted to check it out-we were not disappointed! The Ginza stop station on the Ginza line basically opens up to Mitsukoshi. Go directly to the basement and you will find the selection of some of the greatest Japanese foods on offer. Everything looked completely delicious. Although high end, stall holders were so friendly and helpful. We bought provisions to have a hotel room picnic that night, along with lunch which we ate on the 12th floor outdoor deck-a rare and peaceful haven in busy Ginza. Cannot fault the experience, and the baked goods and cakes were the best of our trip!
