We came in early in the evening the previous day and this was the perfect first activity, not too tiring and not too far. Time your visit early in the morning if you are coming in the heat of August. It’s free!

Ohori Park is right in the middle of Fukuoka, and while you'll certainly see plenty of other people there, it's a nice break from the crowds in Tenjin or around Hakata station. The walk around the pond is lovely.

This park its really cool, you can chill out while still being in the middle of the city. I would recommend this place if you really like running or also just having a walk with your dog

This park is large and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you have to obtain an emergency replacement passport there is an American Consulate there.
