If you're looking for a "special" souvenir of your trip to Zhangjiajie look no further than this Gallery. Instead of liquid paints every "painting" here is made from crushed and whole rocks/pebbles and/or wood/bamboo particles. This type of "3D" media truly expresses the uniqueness of this exotic region! We purchased 3 "paintings" for a very reasonable cost. They were carefully packaged and we hand carried them with us. They do have a shipping service if required. These are one of a kind creations which you won't find duplicated any where else in your travels throughout Asia.

Rather than photos, if you really want to get a souvenir of ZJJ, they do have amazing sandstone paintings. A very talented artist indeed.

Our tour guide took us to see this gallery and we loved it. It isn't huge but the artwork is fabulous. He is an extremely talented artist and the texture and colors in his work are terrific. These are not just paintings, but they are unique, being created with gravel, bamboo, sticks, rocks and paint. Incredible patience and skill needed to create these artworks.

Suitable for art lover. However I found it little boring and just walked out. Perhaps I have seen this kind of painting many times.

Even my 3 teens were impressed with this unique and beautiful art. We visited the gallery in Zhangjiajie city. Takes about 1/2 hour to walk the 3 floors. Great to do with extra time before going to the airport.

I visitted Junsheng gallery last week during my ZJJ tour. It is actually within the itenerary. Instead of getting boring time at mandatory shops visit this gallery is really amazed me n fam. The material they use and the skills to create a great paintings...it is a masterpiece. You must see it closely to see how magnificent it is. Maybe someday I'll buy Junsheng's creation on the 2nd floor instead of his student's on the 3rd floor. But the student's creation is good too and more affordable offcourse😊

We went to Zhangjiajie Junsheng Sandstone Painting Museum on 12 September 2014 by tour group. We were so impressed by the art. So beautiful! Every piece of painting had its beauty. We believed a piece of painting required a lot of time and work.

Junsheng Painting Institute is the place you cannot miss when you come to Zhangjiajie, especially if you are interested in Paintings, here you can see an unique painting.
It is free to visit this painting museum, now there are two museums, one is in Zhangjiajie city and another is located in Wulingyuan. We visited one in Zhangjiajie city, all of the paintings are painted by the master Lijun sheng.
The sand-stone painting as the name suggests, is made of the pure grit. gathering nature ordinary all colors sand and crushed stone, according the color classification, after grinds the powder artificially, the flushing dust, the solarization air dries. Loads separately the colorful sand and crushed stone to make the picture basic material finally. In addition also it has the pine bark, the bamboo shoots shell, the reed does, the small branch pole may cut glues the tile, the beam column. Thus it can be seen as the green environmental protection new picture plants take its natural plain raw material by the crown, is firmly does not pass on responsibilities.
It needs a lot of time and energy to paint a picture, so the price of paint is also high, the most expensive one even costs you 1 million RMB. but the cheapest is only 200 RMB.
