Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The office was right next to our hotel, so ideal to get whatever snow gear you wanted to wear on.
As there hadnt been enough snow to use snow mobile for our reindeer excursion, they refunded us part of the trip, even contacted our travel agents as well as us.
The trip was excellent and our guide was such a great guy, all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Such a cool experience! Did the 10 km husky sledding in Luosto and Lapland Safaris made it super fun and super easy. Great company, no hassle and well equipped.

I went on an excursion looking for the Aurora Borealis in nearby woodland and it was the most exhilarating and wonderful experience. I had been wanting to see them for a long time and they were out in their full glory. The leaders were fantastic throughout the trip. They were very knowledgeable and they made me feel very welcome. All in all a great tip and one I highly recommend.

Very nice experience. You will drive your own sled, not all farms offer this possibility. Time flies, just like the dogs pulling your sled. A must-do.

We booked a Reindeer experience through TUI.
It was a short 10 minute drive from our hotel in Luosto. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

We went to Arctic Husky Farm on 4th of january with my partner and it was our first time to get to know to their habits.
Huskys were looking well, healthy and very humane.
Our guide was very professional. She was friendly and taught us how to ride sledge properly. We even got to see husky puppies and got some hot juice to warm ourselves.
I hoped the ride itself would had been longer considering the cost.
After all this experience was very good and I would recommend it for anyone.

Amazing experience!
Booked easily on-line for my wife, 7-year-old and myself. Lapland Safaris Office only a 5-minute walk from Luosto Hotel where we were staying.
Only the three of us on this safari, so very personal experience. Drive to the Arctic Husky Farm was very informative chatting to our driver. On arrival, met our sled dog guide - Anouska from the Netherlands - who briefed us on the sled, dogs and the day’s events.
The 10Km ride through the forest was brilliant; Anouska was out in front on a snowmobile, so we had all the privacy we would want on the sled, just us and the guide. Great laugh, beautiful scenery and what a work-out! You do need to be prepared for some physical exertion when steering and assisting the dogs going uphill! You can swap drivers half-way, but the wife didn't want to.
After the ride, we got shown throughout the kennels and got to meet some lovely husky pups - my daughters favourite part - then sat down with Anouska and our driver for a Q&A session - Anouska was very knowledgeable in the care of these dogs. It was obvious she had a genuine love for her job and these animals.
There are around 20 Siberian and 200 Alaskan Huskies on this farm and it is very evident that they are all extremely well looked after, no chains or leash; they are free to go crazy with each other in their own caged area (2 dogs / cage, each has own kennel) - the interaction / respect between these very friendly dogs and their handlers is amazing - well worth the visit.

Its not cheap, indeed.. but its a must do in our view!! The organizers are friendly, helpful.. you receive even winter overals and boots/socks/hat.. even if you have own material. A bus takes you to the actual Husky Farm itself (which didn't appear to be directly bookable'.. only 5 minutes away. They explain the workings at the farm, plenty of questions answered and look like they really take care of the animals (a must in my book else avoid). Good explanation and easy to use sled ride and our Teenagers took over (switch places) half way in the tour (10KM).The ride itself is fantastic and the dogs are adorable/friendly and like a 'thank you pat' at the end with some pics taken. It may feel a bit short.. count about an hour to do the actual ride of 10KM itself.. yet for some this will suffice as such an experience never to forget. Only constructive criticism is that I would have preferred a bit of a split in 'speed' between 'slow going folks' and 'more adventurous ones' to avoid 'bottlenecks' on the ride (a lot of braking).

We have done a number of trips this week with these guys including husky dog sledding and cross country skiing - all well organised, no fuss over giving you the right gear and equipment (which you can keep and use for your entire stay) and we’ll trained, friendly guides.
We loved the husky ride, the dogs are great, the scenery beautiful and the trip was just the right length for us. Highly recommended!

Hi , I am coming to Luosto on the 13th December 2017 , three adults and my grandson of 6 years old , I am a Travel Agent and the normal thing is to book through Canterbury Travel but I have actually booked through Thomsons and I know exactly what we will have in the respect of meeting Father Christmas etc but we would like to book a snow mobiles , meet the reigndeers etc and I just need to know that probably my daughter and partner would like to ride their own snow Mobile which I know we can book but when it comes to my grandson he is only 6 so when you book a tour that involves a snowmobile to get to it will I as his nanny (grandmother) be able to travel with him in the sleigh also do you have little snow mobiles/skidoos for children of his age as I know he would love to do this , I look forward to hearing from anyone and kind regards

Hi Sheena,
Thanks for your message and greetings form Lapland! On snowmobile excursion children are travelling in a sleigh and adult(s) can also join there. When booking optionals it's good to mention to Thomson that you would be going to the sleigh with your grandson :)
When it comes to mini-skidoos, quite many tour-operators have in their taster activities mini-skidoos included so I'm sure he will be happy with it!
Best Regards,

hi.
can i know if children (4 years old) are allowed on the husky safaris?
LaplandSafaris
Rovaniemi, Finland10 contributions
Hi Jimmy,
Thanks for your question.
A 4 years old child can enjoy the husky safari. In some destinations we have a special husky safari for families, with a bit shorter ride but still good enough for parents and kids.
If you have more questions, I'll be glad to help you.
