I have visited the Reindeer farm before but this experience was superb as we went early in the morning. The Reindeer Herder was very good and knowledgeable. I love the fact that they are so well looked after but also the whole experience s unforgettable

We came here as part of an organised trip. This and the husky place on same site were our favourite activities from the whole trip. We had an interesting talk from one of the farmers about how the farm works and how they are semi wild animals. Then we got to feed with the pellets - so exciting! Then the best treat a sleigh ride with the reindeer! This was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience but now HAVE to go back!

We only went on the reindeer trail, but it's really worth it. I spent more than an hour there with my daughters (15 and 17). You could pet the reindeer (but I don't think they like that) and you could feed them. We also had a lot of fun in the snow.

Feeding the reindeer is such a beautiful experience even for people from the country side like us. Those animals are very friendly. The reindeer calves are so cute and funny that you want to take them home !
Very very beautiful experience
Thank you to the very interesting lady reindeer keeper.

There are times and places you encounter in your travels where you say, "Yes, this is how I would run a business and treat guests." Kopara Reindeer Park is one such place. We had pre-booked a three hour reindeer safari and after checking in we found our reindeer train all hitched up and waiting for us. We had a wonderful ride through the forest with a nice break for coffee, bread and sausages.
The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. I was with a group of Finns and the staff had no issues switching between English and Finnish and were happy to explain things twice to us.
A reindeer safari is not a fast moving train, be sure to dress appropriately (though they do tuck you under warm blankets as well.)
I would gladly return to partake in their other tours, or do the same one again.

We were staying in Pyhätunturi ski village and wanted to go visit the reindeers. We checked out some of the safari companies but ultimately we wanted to go on a day when it wasn't scheduled and as there was only 2 of us, we thought it would be cheaper to book directly with the park and catch a taxi to the Reindeer Farm from Pyhä.

We asked the tourist centre to assist with calling the reindeer farm and she was very helpful and did - and confirmed we were booked for a 1km sleigh ride and it was 35 euros per person (as the website also stated for a 1km ride). When we arrived one of the ladies at the front desk insisted it was 45 euros per person (we did query that we wanted the 1km not the 2km, but she insisted that the website was wrong, whoever we spoke to was wrong yesterday, and it was 45). We had already made it all the way there, so we paid the extra 10 euro each but it was a bit confusing for us (and probably for other tourists too - website should be updated). Anyway, despite that small hiccup, we fed the reindeers and had a 25 minute sleigh ride through the park. It was very beautiful, albeit cold (wear something warm!) and the guide was fantastic - he answered all our questions, took photos and was very friendly. After the ride we sat in a fire hut warming our hands, then had a cup of coffee at the main entrance. Overall it was a lovely experience and I would recommend for visitors, however do be sure of the price before you go and it is probably worth it to go with a safari company as they also provide transport for a fee. For anyone interested, we booked a taxi, on the way there it cost 40 euro, the way back it cost 32 euro (again, no idea how or why as it is a straight road but that's how it was!) from Pyhä ski-inn. Taxi was easy and on time. Big thumbs up to the reindeer guide - he was lovely!!!! I would only recommend updating the website for current prices.

The visit to the reindeer park could easily be better without too much more effort.

We had a great snowmobile drive there from Luosto (with the excellent Lapland Safaris). When we got there, we had a 15 minute mini tour in a reindeer sled, followed by tea and freshly-made pastries inside a wooden kota (Lappish house).

The reindeer tour is very slow (compared with the awesome huskies next door), and we didn't get a chance to see inside the farm itself, so all we really got to see of any reindeer was 15 minutes of looking at the backside of the one pulling us.

The person giving our talk didn't seem to really know much about her subject - it felt like they had memorised a script, but had no depth of knowledge about reindeer, which was also a shame.

If they included a small tour of the farm and trained their guides better, this would easily be a five star review. After all - you can't really visit Lapland without seeing reindeer!

A sedate ride compared with huskies and an hour was a bit too long and cold but it was in a very authentic sleigh and we did enjoy it. We went there via self-driven snowmobile and were lead by Pascal who is a very interesting and safe guide. Not too sure why Finland don't realise a cushion is a beautiful thing but what can you do:)

Easy to find with Google maps (car GPS went crazy in the last few hundred meters). I absolutely loved the experience. We did the walk through the trail, 10 eur pp, which you pay at the restaurant. It took maybe 30-40 mins to complete, easy and slow walk. You must feed these cute reindeers and if you're as lucky as me, you will get to pet them and take cute selfies together! :) They are very very greedy and cheeky - but it makes them all the more charming. Food (pellets) is provided in large boxes as you walk along the trail. These reindeers will take interest in you - especially when you open the box! We went in March, snowy scenery is, so most of our photos resemble to beautiful Christmas postcards. At the end of the trail, there is a tiny hut you can warm up inside. Beautiful, family friendly experience - do not miss out!

We visited with Canterbury travel search for Santa. This activity was just amazing. Lovely ride on a sled pulled by reindeer through the enchanted Forrest. Staff friendly took pics on our cameras for us. The guy who runs the park forgot his name very knowledgeable, great answering kids questions on the spot too. Shop for gifts needs to be bigger. Defo would recommend!
