Footfalls Walking Holidays was founded in 1994 by Christopher and Teresa Stacey. We wanted to share our love and interest in the great outdoors with others so we started guiding individuals and groups in the Wicklow Mountains.

Before long we were getting requests from our customers to see more of Ireland than just Wicklow and also do self-guided tours. Today we have expanded to where we are offering guided and self-guided tours to almost every corner of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Lake District. Despite out growth almost all of our tours are guided by us, Christopher and Teresa, to guarantee that personal touch.

We looked high and low, but on our five day wander along Ireland’s Wicklow Way we failed to find any little folk dressed in green. We did, however find some of the friendliest people on the planet.

Although lucky to have traveled extensively, I have never experienced either a group tour nor a hiking tour. I was invited to experience Northern Ireland with a group of women, also a first. Footfalls owners Christopher and Teresa are delightful, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and funny -- the bus, accommodations, restaurants and interactions with a large group went far and above... If you want to discover parts of Ireland landscape slowly by walking, this company is really good. With my girlfriend, we did the self guided tour of the Aran Islands and the Western Way (8 days) in June of this year! Everything was well organized, all transfer of luggage worked well, taxi transfer were on time. Accommodations were all nice... More

We just returned from our first Footfalls trip, the Cork and Kerry excursion. What a wonderful time we had exploring the Beara, Kerry and Dingle peninsulas in southwestern Ireland. Christopher and Teresa presided over our congenial crew of walkers with great care for an optimal experience and with a friendly warmth that made it all the more fun. The hikes... More

I actually did back to back tours with Footfalls. The Cork and Kerry hike followed immediately by Donegal and Antrim. Both were a wonderful introduction to Ireland for me as I had not been there before. Hiking with Footfalls was an incredible way to experience this magical country. The walks were stunning even with some pretty extreme weather the first... More

After doing some research on the internet for a hiking trip in Ireland we decided on Footfalls Walking Tours. We are so glad we did - it was fantastic. Christopher and Teresa were great to work with - we are sorry though we never met them. Footfalls planned the 11 day trip for us, made all B&B arrangements, sent us... More

This trip was better than I ever expected and my expectations were high (delivered!). My friend and I were looking for an adventure around the southwestern part of Ireland and found the Wild Atlantic Way tour with Christopher. I joined Footfalls for their guided Wild Atlantic Way tour. I joined the group as a solo traveler, but knew I was among friends and in for a great time as soon as introductions were over. On 30 July I joined a group of strangers under the auspices of Christopher Stacey and we headed to Kylemore in Connemara, Co. Galway. By the end of supper that night I was among new friends. A week of guided walking in the SW corner of Ireland. We walked uphill and down dale, through valleys and woods, on beaches and bogs, cliffs and islands. The walks are well paced and well timed. I would recommend a moderate level of fitness or at least be used to walking over uneven ground for several hours in a day.... More
