The dunes are currently the subject of an active conservation policy by Wexford County Council ensuring that this marvellous amenity and the plant and wildlife it contains, will be preserved for future generations. Soft clean sand was a most pleasant surprise. Not much in the way of rock pools to explore, but interesting dunes edging the beach as far as eye can see. It's great to sunbathe in or have a picnic. There is a shop/ arcade beside the beach where you can get ice cream, tea coffee etc..... TheVisited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 May 2024

We enjoyed a beautiful day on this beach during a recent visit to Wexford
It is such a long sandy beach great swimming and lifeguard on duty.
We brought picnic and there was plenty of space on beach to spread
our blanket and social distance. It's a must visit if you enjoy a good beach.

Lovely sandy beach.
Whether you like to swim, lie in the sun or take a long walk along the beach, this is a great place. You can walk for miles and come to next beach up, which is Ballinesker, where the film Saving Private Ryan was shot.

Extraordinary nature spot! Stunning views! Visited a beach in a day trip from Dublin. Weather was incredible - there's a fact that Wexford has the most sunny days in Ireland. Beach is kilometres long, clean and safe (blue flag beach). If you are film lover this is a beach where Steven Spielberg did 'Saving private Ryan'. 1/100 beaches in Éire. #wexford #curracloe

Didn’t realise until we seen a sign for it, but this beach was the one used for the DDay landings scene on the film Saving Private Ryan.
That in itself deserves a 5star rating.
The beach in itself is unreal. So big, so clean and so fresh to swim in. We grabbed a coffee in a nice shop right at the car park, walked down and just soaked up the wind and the views. I would love to go here when it was sunny but the beauty of the place could be enjoyed either way. I went in for a dip as well, as it’s hard to resist the lure of the crashing waves. Refreshment factor 100! Do it.

Fabulous beach. Have been coming here since my childhood. Miles of golden sand, extremely clean & toilets nearby. Also a cafe and surf shack nearby that serve nice coffee/ice creams & rent boards. What's not to like?!

Was blown away by the beautiful clean soft sand at this huge expanse of beach. The sand dunes are massive and were great fun to explore. we were fortunate (for Ireland) to have wonderful weather to stroll along the beach, although I wasn't brave enough to have a dip!

It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. Miles of sandy beach. We were lucky enough to spend two sunny days there in September. The Ravenwood is also well worth seeing.
The best place to stay is Robin Hill B&B!

What a stunning place to be! I hadn't been since I was a child but this was the middle of March and honestly it's as stunning as I remember. The waves were high, but the beach is so big and the sand so clean and white.
Will definitely go back when it's hot and we can swim.
There were lots of horses along the beach with children riding them so I'm guessing there's a riding school nearby

Wondering
Planning to go over tomorow, just wondering is there a parking? And if yes how much do you have to pay for a day? We are 120 km away so have to be sure I have all I need.

We a thinking of having a weeks holiday there next summer. Can you tell me where i can rent accommodation near the beach and amenities. And is there a bus service from Wexford town. Thank you Monica.

I apologize for not answering sooner, but I just saw this message. My husband and I were driving between Dublin and Waterford and decided to stop for just a little bit. So unfortunately, I don't know anything about accommodations or bus transportation.
