Steeped in history, the Franciscan Friars have been here for 750 years. The restored abbey is beautiful in its simplicity. The gardens are wonderful and tranquil. Well worth a visit

We walked through the grounds of this lovely place one evening. The Stations of the Cross in the woods was lovely as was the entire grounds. It had a lovely peaceful feeling for everyone

We visited again and found the park, with its statues of the station of the cross, remains carefully maintained. Wheelchair accessible. A great place for a few moments quiet contemplation, and for some emotive photography.

A beautiful old historic abbey set in the beautiful village of Multyfarnham. The fransicians monks run the abbey to this day. A must see for anyone travelling to Westmeath.

So peaceful. And the outdoors stations of the Cross are amazing. The church is beautiful and I loved the designated areas where one could sit and pray in peace.

Worth reading up about this ancient Friary before you visit. Fantastic history to the place. The grounds are slightly surreal - we arrived in October with nobody about and it was a really peaceful spot. The life-size statues of the stations of the cross add...More
