About
Luker's Bar, Restaurant & live music venue, a family run bar holds a mix of the old and new!The old bar dates back to the 1800's,one of Irelands best kept secrets. There are very few genuine authentic pubs like it left in Ireland. Walk through the old heritage bar with real Irish antiques. Enter a beautiful cozy back room with an open hearth Victorian fireplace dating back the the 1800s.Excellent food to be savoured while enjoying the stunning view (The Steak is a Must!) Sit down and enjoy an Irish ballad performed by whomever happens by to play that night. Banjo, guitar, mandolin and fiddle.Excellent Live music up to 6 nights a week during the summer season with some of the best bands and musicians Ireland has to offer! You have to come if you are in the vicinity of Shannonbridge and introduce yourself to the friendly pub owner and have a pint in an authentic Irish bar. Luker's also has a 'new' bar which boasts of a beer garden over looking the beautiful river Shannon. Be sure of a great pint of Guinness and a friendlily welcome when visiting this step back into the old Ireland. Recently renovated offering a fabulous panoramic views of the River through the 'Glass Wall' type gable front, only seen to be believed! PS be sure to ask John Joe, the owner for your personal tour of the old heritage pub adjoining!

What a steak!

Stopped here on Tuesday 4/8. Very accommodating. The food was top class. My wife had one of the best steaks we have ever been served. Only downside was that staff were not wearing masks. And that they didn’t have anything from Dead Centre brewery on tap.

Start to finish superb. Sanitizing unit straight away as you go in the door. Name and number taken , seated. Food was delicious and the view of the river spectacular. Friendly staff sanitizing at every opportunity. Guinness to die for! The manager Sean is a real gent - a gas man!
Outdoor area just opened called The Boatyard also lots of space - great burgers and warm vibey atmosphere

Very poor experience
Aug 2020
We had a meal their last Saturday 1st, the attention to COVID-19 requirements was absolutely deplorable not one server including management and proprietor wearing a mask sanitisation of the table where we were to sit fell well short of the requirements a lick and a promise comes to mind. 3 of us in the party are in the mid 70s the server brought our drinks no tray and put hand over the top of The pint glass to hand it to me as for the meal I had fish which was frozen and tasteless. No one took any details from us for tracing purposes. When it comes to the dangers of Covid-19 and the basic restaurant requirements Lukers unfortunately have a long way to go ??

Covid 19

The food here was delicious yet the adherence to Covid 19 guidelines was appalling. Not one member of staff wore a mask nor did they follow social distancing guidelines. Was very disappointed in the service.

A fabulous little place, great views and very friendly people. The old hotel was a real treat to look at and to top it all a fabulous homemade Oreo cheesecake!

Highly recommend the fish cakes and chowder.

Will defiantly be back to see you John jo!

Friendly, courteous & funny manager/owner - Lovely food+atmosphere

Have visited Lukers on a number of occasions at this stage. The food is excellent ( hat off to the chefs). Always great live music at the weekends (Saturdays are great!). The old bar which dates back to 1757 is a must see - fully functioning bar which can be booked for private functions.
The highlight of my visits are always the craic and conversations had with John Joe the owner & Sean the manager- great characters!
Our last visit was on Monday 30.09.19 - raining outside after a visit to the Ballinasloe fair but lovely to look out at the rain coming down over the river shannon and acrhed bridge. Well run establishment & a great friendly atmosphere as always!

I ate here on a Monday afternoon after the ballinasloe horse fair before we travelled back up home. The food was fantastic the chefs are gifted. I ate a lovely steak dinner, cooked to perfection. The staff were so pleasant apart from when I got a bit of a shock. I overheard what looked to be a manager or owner giving hassle to a young waitress I was very shocked as she was wonderful, kind, with a bubbly vibe. The young girl came down with a big smile and couldn’t have been nicer but I felt like she was quiet distressed. Overall, I do recommend this spot overlooking the river Shannon which even the rain complemented.

What a view!
Sep 2019
My husband and I stopped here with a small tour group on a pretty Sunday afternoon. We had a table facing the River Shannon and the view was beautiful. We had friendly service. I had vegtable soup and a salad which were just ok thus the very good rating vs excellent.
We also got a tour of the old section of the pub which was very interesting!
