About
The Shop at Clonmacnoise is a wonderful source of Giftware and Bespoke Crafts inspired by the legacy of Clonmacnoise. You can visit us at our shop located at the site of Clonmacnoise in Co Offaly in Ireland. Founded by St Kieran as a monastic city in the 6th century, Clonmacnoise was the leading centre of excellence in Celtic design, its Craftsmen were the leading exponents in the known world. It contained a Scriptorium in which the Monks painstakingly illustrated Bibles and Books. Stonemasons created the World famous Celtic Crosses. Goldsmiths and Silversmiths flourished and created wonderful Croziers, Jewellery and Ornaments which are revered to this day.

Very Friendly Shop
Jul 2021 • Family
After exploring the Monastic ruins at Clonnacnoise this little shop was most welcome! It has sandwiches, snacks and most importantlyfor us in such a hot day, plenty of cold water and drinks.
It's primarily a souvenir shop selling arts, crafts and trinkets with an obvious speciality on Clonmacnoise, Monastic Ireland and Irish heritage in general, but also sells food. I saw a menu on the counter too but we didn't partake so I can't review.
Very friendly service, right by the entrance car park to Clonmacnoise and the interpretive centre.

Lovely shop with excellent staff

Had occasion to visit this shop with some guests and enjoyed the quality of the products on offer. Fiona was the staff member on duty and she was so attentive and friendly. With her attitude and attention she certainly is a great advertisement for tourism in the area. I certainly can recommend a visit to this location.

Excellent selection of goods made in Ireland. Top notch quality, and a bit of the unusual. You can get t-shirts and caps anywhere. This shop is worth browsing.

Arrived here a bit worn from the drive from Dublin...lovely shopkeeper saw to it that we were refreshed and accommodated. We did quite a bit of shopping and very much enjoyed visiting with the locals.

Wonderful gift shop off the beaten track
Oct 2013 • Friends
This was the best Gift Shop I've come across in Ireland. Good value, great selection of gifts and books. The staff were really friendly and helpful - it was a cold and wet day (Irish weather!!) and I was offered an umbrella, and a cup of coffee. I recommend 'The story of Clonmacnoise' which is a lovely guide book, and which made my visit much more enjoyable. It's a nice souvenir too, with lots of information. I'll be back soon, I hope!
