We love visiting old churches, abbeys, monasteries, etc, even if they are in ruins. Just knowing they were once active Christian houses of worship gives us much to ponder! I googled tide schedules prior to leaving from the US, and I was still an hour...More

Good free parking and toilet. Nice friendly cafe in car park (dog allowed outside). Beach beautiful. Can walk across to Island when tide out. Looks like you can walk around/over it but once there it's nothing special and all fenced off, with sign about a...More

I've seen a lot of beaches in my time - including Portugal's top one - but I'd go as far as saying Narin beach is probably the best looking one I've been to. First off its huge altogether. You can walk for ten minutes and,...More

Even in the beautiful and long lasting weather while the beach was being used by a bunch of people there was still a feeling of space and emptiness. Fantastic, there were a load of kids having a sandcastle building contest, people walking their dogs, swimmers,...More

Visiting the beach and parked up our motor home in the public car park. Garda came around taking MH registration numbers and telling people to move on. Even a disabled driver with a Blue Badge displayed was moved from the disabled parking bay. Apparently locals...More

What a beautiful place to visit anytime of the year but if the sun shines wow! Long meandering golden sands and blue sea.

Hi there. I wouldn't be fit to answer your question and know I'm 100% correct but I have an app on my phone which is prity good. It's called tides near me. I would use this a lot as the tides change each day. Hope this helps.

We stayed in B&B's in Dungloe so I don't know the hotels in the area. I was surprised to see a lot more hotels than I remembered from previous visits to Co. Donegal.
