Due to weather, the sea stack I had originally planned to climb was not possible. But Iain had some other alternatives available and chose one that was along the route to my next destination. The climb up the new stack was fun and then he lowered me down several times on different routes to climb back up each time. Iain was a total pro and I never once felt in danger while he was holding the rope. The views of the ocean were incredible and the climbing was challenging but still doable, which is exactly what I was looking for. If you are looking for a unique experience on the Irish coast, I wholeheartedly recommend Iain to take you sea stack climbing.

Had an unforgettable day with Iain on our first time climbing sea stacks. We're relatively experienced climbers and usually happy to give (almost) anything a go without a guide, but we knew we wouldn't stand a chance with this! The amount of experience, knowledge, and equipment needed just to approach the stacks is immense, and Iain has pretty much mastered it all. We felt safe and comfortable the whole time (no mean feat when tiny rubber dinghies and white water are involved), and Iain was constantly reassessing conditions to facilitate this. He was also incredibly friendly, fun, and clearly loves what he does. Highly recommend.

We were a group of two families; my sister and I and four of our children aged 10,12,13 and 15. We took part in a number of climbs and had a really unforgettable experience. Iain is so calm and measured but also very light hearted and fun. We felt very assured and confident in our climbs with Iain. Iain gradually introduced us to tougher climbs always aware of ability. The kids were so brave and climbed over cliffs. It was really unbelievable. Cruit island is also stunningly beautiful and there is a really lovely beach/cove. We plan to return next year and spend the day on the island and do more climbing. This is a really exceptional experience!

Great experience in the hills, across bog and into Ardsforest park with a beautiful shell beach for lunch. Strong focus on sustainability & leave no trace and good recommendations for local accommodation.
Enjoyed meeting other course participants. Good opportunities to mix & chat. Glad I booked this course with Iain.
Plenty of practical learning & i came away with a new appreciation for anticipating & solving issues as well as the importance of constant vigilance and clear communication with walking group. Looking forward to returning to complete my assessment. Much more confident in navigation skills, confirming location and finding reference points following all the practice.
Also had time to do part of Errigal Sat evening.

Iain organised a perfect day for me and my two kids who are keen to transition from regular indoor climbing to rock. He judged the skill level perfectly and we got exactly what we wanted from the day and had lots of fun doing it. We travel to Donegal often to visit family so hope to make this a regular meet up to gradually build our skills and confidence. Highly recommended for anyone of all skill levels.

What an adventure!! Don’t leave Donegal without exploring with Iain. I’d say travel to Donegal just to do this. He’ll tailor the experience to your level and what you’re looking for. Great conversations, he also pointed me in the direction of the most spectacular time with in depth knowledge and details about other hikes in the county. Superb 🌟

Such an incredible day!
I cannot thank Iain enough for turning a Tuesday into a day of memories I will never forget.
Whether you are new to climbing, or experienced, Iain is your guy to guide you around the area.
For our day we paddled out to Uaigh and explored some sea cliffs. Swanage sea cliffs are my "home turf" so I was both comfortable in the setting and also absolutely enthralled with the rock and the location. Between the occasional seam of choss is the most perfect, perfect granite you could ever hope for. Truly remarkable.
You'll climb, you'll chat, and you'll enjoy the heck out of yourself.
My only regret was that in a week of vacation in the area, my schedule only allowed us to climb together the once.

I had an amazing experience and learned loads! Went from zero trad climbing experience to feeling comfortable leading on a multipitch within just a few days. All with great views on some lovely Donegal islands.

Climbing with Lain and sea kayaking in Ireland were breathtaking! It was the pinnacle of my trip, an adventure that surpassed all expectations. From dawn till dusk, Lain orchestrated an exhilarating journey filled with countless routes and jaw-dropping vistas. The climbing was amazing, and the views were simply awe-inspiring. As we glided through the tranquil waters during sea kayaking. I can't recommend this experience highly enough, and I'm already eagerly planning my next visit. Massive thanks to Lain for making it unforgettable!

Iain is a very experienced and proficient mountaineer. His knowledge of the island and his love for adventure provides a truly unique experience. If you find that Iain is free during your travels, book him, you won't regret it.
