Musee Levie-Open!
Sep 2017 • Couples
Could our earlier contributors have made an unfortunate error. If you follow the signs to the museum and pull up in the car park your eye is drawn to a recently restored (palacio) three story stone building awaiting your attention all closed up. But this is not the museum! The museum is down some steps below the carpark, deliberately designed to be unassuming and to blend into the landscape, this dreary concrete construction achieves its' aim by being unnoticeable. But here it is!
Try to visit this museum AFTER a visit to the site at Cucuruzzu and it all falls into place. Well worth a detour.

Imagine spending 2 hours to get to a museum to find it shut and no explanation. Not good enough. Nearby Cucuruzzu great and compensated a bit but didn't help by reminding visitors that more information available at museum. Grrr...

Magical find
Sep 2015 • Couples
Rep said to visit Levie - trip advisor mentioned the museum and so worth the trip - artefacts and history shown in very accessible way - brilliant art work demonstrating how life was lived - Dame a bonifacio quite amazing - though what made the museum even better was the welcome and guided history from Shirley - who shared her time and local knowledge in such a lovely way and her advice on where to visit next made for a spectacular day - stunning scenery and amazing journey through the mountains - museum a must - Shirley just fab thank you.

Shirley, our guide was excellent. It is a small museum and filled with important and significant findings. Worth the trip.

Not a rating as such
Just a note of warning, the museum which apparently is very interesting,is closed in May. We should have researched it better. The drive around Levie made the visit to the area worthwhile. Disappointed but that's travel some days.
