We went as a family of 6 and were under the direction of Tommy who was excellent in every way for us all beginners. Gave us good direction and also very informative and helpful in every way. I would highly recommend this as an Great way to spend a couple of hours.
Was my sons 21st and it certainly added to the celebration, definitely would do it again.
Thank you for the experience.

We did an hour trek a few weeks ago.
Even though the weather was bad we had a great time.
The pony’s were so chilled!
Would highly recommend.
Thank you for a lovely trek 🙂

Breathtaking Beach, Cliffs, Riding... Everything!
Aug 2019
My parents and I were taking a cross country road trip across Ireland and we knew one of the activities we had to do was horseback riding on the beach. After reading reviews and checking prices we settled on Moycullen Riding Center. They exceeded our expectations in every way. The horses were extremely well cared for and seemed just as excited as we were to get going! We arrived at the beach and our guide assigned us horses based on temperament and riding experience. The views were incredible, the guide was knowledgable, and the experience was unforgettable.

Horse riding
Sep 2019 • Friends
I contacted Tom at the stables by phone and booked a trek to the beach for the following day. We trailered the horses for a short distance -10 min drive and unloaded at the beach. I am an experienced rider and was lucky to be the only rider with Tom. We had a fabulous ride with lots of trotting and cantering in the different terrain of the oceans floor. It was definitely a highlight of my vacation. Stables are clean and the horses well cared for and great temperaments! You won’t be disappointed!

Great guide, great horses & beautiful scenery
Jun 2019
This ride was such a treat! On our drive out to the Centre it was raining and luckily, the rain stopped just after we arrived. As it turned out, we were the only ones signed up for the ride at that time (group of 3) so we ended up with a private ride. Our guide was friendly and chatty and we had a nice conversation all about the land, history, clean energy, vacations in America, work, family, life.... We took a nice walk out along the bog and took a little break where we had a gorgeous view of the bog land and the Connemara mountains. Our guide kindly read my mind and asked if he could take a picture of us for me (thank you!). My kid even got to ride a true Connemara pony :) The Centre was easy to find, had good parking & got us situated with helmets. I had booked online and didn't have any issue with our reservation etc. Everything went smoothly & it was a great excursion on our vacation.

Wonderful experience, despite extreme weather conditions!
Aug 2019
My husband and I are beginners and our daughter is an experienced rider. The Moycullen staff loaded 8 horses/Connemara ponies, one for each of the riders in our group, into a trailor and brought us to a quiet coast on a blustery August day. We rode along the coast and then through shallow water onto a sandy flat area. The guide helped my husband and me with our horses while the other riders enjoyed total control of theirs. Rain and wind lashed us and the guide (not on horseback) continued to make the ride enjoyable, never intimating that he wanted to stop, only wanting us all to have a great experience. The other riders had the opportunity to gallop at full speed, several times, across the wide expanse of sandy land, having the time of their lives! My husband and I felt safe and satisfied with our more mild ride. We can't say enough about this wonderful experience and the staff at Moycullen. We would do this again!!

We had a great few hours at Rusheen Bay with Tom.
The horses were well cared for and suitable for all the riders. Having spent lots of time in Galway... this was an incredible way to experience parts we’ve never seen before.
Will definitely be back 👍🏻

Excellent visit
Aug 2019 • Family
Really enjoyed our visit to Moycullen Riding Stables yesterday. There were 8 of us; 5 adults and 3 kids. We went on a bog trek and Tommy, Tom, Alice, Olivia and another young girl came out with us. Most of us are inexperienced riders (with 2 of the kids never haven ridden before) and each of the team filled us with confidence. They were friendly, personable and took time with all of us. I would definately recommend these stables

I've been trying to reach them since last week too, am inquiring for openings the week of Oct 22. I've not heard anything back from any of the venues I've tried (tripadvisor contact info, on their website info, & directly from my email). Their website recommends reserving in advance, but I'm finding that hard to do. Any more direct contact information you can give?

I got ahold of them via email at info address, but that was back in the spring... perhaps they are slowing down/getting ready for winter? I wish you the best of luck and hope you are able to go! If you can't get ahold of them may be worth stopping by as it's only a few minutes from Galway and hopefully at that time of year they wouldn't be too busy to fit you in.

I have made several attempts to contact them and inquire/reserve beach riding for our upcoming trip. None of my emails have been answered. Does anyone know how to reach them? or should I avoid them because they are no longer giving rides?

Unfortunately it took me a few attempts to reach out to them, but they are still giving rides. They are located off the beaten path in Galway. It is awesome. Goodluck and I hope you get to experience it

I am a beginner and I have only been on a horse once before.I am planning a trip to Moycullen this coming August and I was wondering if I would need to book a trek in advance, and if so,when would be the ideal time to book?

Are helmets provided? My daughter and I would like to visit this June but I'm not sure that all of our gear will fit in our luggage. Thank you in advance :)

There is Helmets provided , BUT don’t fit you at all , not comfortable at all.
If you want body protectors There is LOTS OF BROKEN ones there too.
Pony’s/Horses are half dead , they are worked too hard and don’t get a break. When my children have been doing horse riding for 1 year. There horses are way too worked hard.
Brouchers are “Too good to be true” I love the picture of the Horses on the beach, the site is located no where near the beach.
Tom was our instructor who had to crack a branch off a tree to give to my daughter to hit the pony as it was “half dead” worked way too hard.
1 helper there was on her phone for the whole 1 hr Treck.
Wouldn’t recommend to go here again.
