Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Taichung a visit to the Wetlands!
Not far away from the Fishery Port are the wetlands, a protected nature reserve which goes to show that even with such large industrial areas not far, we can still do our utmost to protect our environment!
Next to a very traditional Chinese Temple, it’s worth a visit and enjoy the scenery, tranquility and watch myriad’s of crabs doing their thing!
Highly recommended!

Bring along your camera to capture the serene and beautiful sunset looking out toward the horizon. Walk along the broadwalk out to wetland, see tiny crabs, mudskippers. Jump in into the shallow wetland at the edge if you're game for it. Bring along a jacket as it's cold in December. There is a local bus 178 from Qingshui station to the wetland, cheap versa taxi ride. Do note last bus leaving wetland else hail a taxi.

I’ve been to many places around the world, and been to a few cities in Taiwan, but Gaomei Wetland is one of the best places to be in Aida. You can see how well protected it is, and the crabs and other species there are nowhere to be found in Taiwan.
Pray for Taiwan, thank you.

We took a half day tour with KKDay to visit Gaomei Wetlands. The journey by coach there from the starting point at Miyahara Ice Cream took over an hour. Reached Gaomei Wetlands just before sunset. We spent over one and a half hours there walking on the boardwalk, along the bund and enjoying the sunset. It was very windy and it was a sunny day, so the sunset was very beautiful. You can see the silhouettes of the wind turbines against the beautiful sunset. It was a sight to behold. This is probably the highlight of our visit to Taichung. It was fairly cheap to join a tour, either with KKDay or Klook, better than trying to get there yourself using public bus/taxi.

Such a must visit place in Taichung. Even though it took an hour to there from the city centre, the sunset is such a unforgettable experience. We spent about 2 hours there for taking photo TIL sunset. We joined the half day tour and this is the last stop. A well-preserved natural place! Wide wet land and long line of wind mills can not avoid my eyes. In particular the sunset scene must be the best one compared to other sunset scenes. Came during sunny day. Able to watch beautiful sunset. We joined half day trip to come here because we know there is rarely public transportation. Spend 2 hours here. Enjoyed the trip so much.

Encountered strong wind and cloudy sky. Prepare windproof jacket during windy days. Unfortunately cannot sunset was not able to see due to dark clouds.

Singaporeans - Bring a drying cloth for feet & a recyclable (ntuc) plastic bag to put shoes in your bag. You have get down into the mud (it is not sticky) at the end of the ~700m wooden boardwalk (yes, worth the walk). Time it properly, if sunset says 515pm on Google, aim to reach by 445pm. There are alot of people so you cannot exactly walk like a singaporean CBDer.
Parking - 50NT per entry. Closest carparks are those after you see a big red temple. When you enter you will see a jaga, it is not a gantry. Parking at museum (gantry) is ok but a further walk.
Very child friendly.

That would be a tough question for me... as my friend drove us there... so she just park nearby car park and we walk to the wetland... as far as I can observe, the wet land itself does not have any storage in the compound..
I am sorry not able to be more helpful
11月行きます。
条件はそこまでよくなく、
満潮の3時間前午後3時半ごろくらいに行きます。その頃水位が100cmほどの予定ですが、満潮に近い時間に見ても綺麗ですか?風は風速7メートルくらいです。

A friend and I plan to go Kaomei Wetlands this Friday April 13,2018. We plan to rent a car for half a day (TWD2200) but the cost is over our budget. Know any company that does carpool servicing? Or any lone traveler here interested to join us and the split the cost? Thanks.

you could try hiring a taxi for the half day and I suspect the cost could be below what you would pay for on the rental car
