Beautiful
Mar 2019 • Couples
Beautiful turquoise water and white sand beach. This is definitively the best beach I have been in Costa Rica. On the downside, it can get really crowded, with people around you with loud music, smoking, drinking... I believe this beach is part of a protected area, so I would expect certain rules to apply here.

You can get here either by the Curu Wildlife reserve (you have to pay for the entrance) or by paying for a boat trip from Puntarenas or Paquera.

Lovely beach well worth the walk
Apr 2019 • Family
We read so many different reviews about the walk we were unsure if we would be able to do it with a baby in a carrier and i'm quite unfit!! The walk took us about 90min it's 4.4k

The first part of the walk is uphill it's about 1k walk up a steep hill but then you walk down a hill into some meadows then it's a nice long flat walk then there's a another shorter uphill walk (about 0.5k) then it's a nice walk down through the trees to the most amazing beach white sand and beautiful blue water. It's well worth the walk but we only did it one way we took the boat back which costs $10 each

One of the best beaches in CR!

Check the color of the water. Just amazing. No waves, you can swim in the sea like you were in a swimming pool. You can reach Quesera by boat or hiking from Curú.

Tropical wildlife paradise

This is a most see, white sands virgin, deserted beach. Snorkeling the clear waters is great. Stay later and you will be amazed by the bioluminescence phenomena. Stay overnight so you do not have to rush back to the ferry.

Nice beach away from crowds
Aug 2018
We like this beach because it is not filled with tourists like some other beaches in the area. The waves are calm here and it is a nice spot for a beach day.

most beautiful beach I ever saw
Jan 2018
Never saw more perfection in one single site. It is a very isolated and very small beach with a comfortable slope into the water, which most of the time gently rolls into it. One reaches it by boat, but much better by a 45 minute walk through Refugio Privado de Vida Silvestre Curu.

Beatiful white sand beach in the Curu reserve
Apr 2017 • Friends
A small beach you can reach by boat, kayak or by foot on a 50 minute walk from the reserve entrance. White sand, palm trees and monkeys all around. You will have Tortuga islands in front. Worth the paddle, or walk.

Being the island part of the reserve, you have to register first in the reserve administration. A park ranger is always present.

Stunning!

This little white sand beach stands out! Since it is in the Curu Wildlife refugee and it takes about 2 hours to walk there, you are almost guaranteed to get the beach to yourself.
I have gone there a couple of times on horseback, but mostly I have gone there by kayak.
I love this beach!

Beautiful Beach
Mar 2016 • Family
Enjoyed several hours at this beach. We visited with our kayak guides, Seascape Kayak Tours, had lunch and enjoyed the white, fine sand beach. There was a park ranger on duty at the beach, I believe someone is there most days. There's a constant breeze that blows onto this beach making it a wonderful spot to sit or nap in the shaded area at the edge of the trees. The waves were very small, the water was clear and shallow for a long way out making it a good spot for our girls to snorkel. Certainly one of the best beaches we visited while on the southern tip of the peninsula.
