This is quite certainly a wonderful beach with wonderful sand and superbly clear water. I followed a walk which went along the beach and then uphill and there is no doubt it is a photographer's dream.

Great beach. Not busy. Crystal clear water (even if a tad cold I July).
Secluded setting. Well worth a visit and travelling to specifically for the picturesque setting.

Nice beach, worth a trip if you are in the area. We visited on a murky day, so I don’t think we got to see it at its best. However it was a nice place to walk with our young children.

Charlie’s Beach is wonderful. Amazing colour, gentle waves and great for shell collecting. If you’re going to swim (and it’s definitely recommended) brace yourself as the water is icy. But fantastic!
We lucked out with great weather and loved our visit.

Lovely beach, fantastic setting, clean, beautiful area. Nice place to swim when the water warms up a bit. The Barra ferry crossings take place from here.

Quiet, idyllic, tranquil, serene, peaceful. Tests the eyes with various shades of blue and apart from a wee bit of wind, it's perfect.

We came out of the Politician's car park, turned right and went past the cemetery and on to the end of the road. We couldn't see a beach. There was a howling gale and heavy rain but I would have walked anyway if I could have found the beach. We drove up to the top of the hill and could see it below but couldn't see how to reach it. Can I access it from the ferry terminal?

Hi, when you drive past the older cemetery ( stone wall ) you carry on following the road past the newer houses, there's a parking area on the right after the last of the newer houses, there's a grassy slope that leads down to the beach, you can also take the car down to just above the beach. If you drive round to the ferry point there's a small stone wall on the right just before the cattle grid, you can park nose in here or on the grass verge, a stoney path leads from here down to the beach, you can also park down at the ferry point and walk back to the beach, there's toilets and a shower in the building at the ferry point.
