Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In good weather it is advisable to arrive early (before 10:00) because parking spaces will be scarce...
Beautiful panorama. Multiple Things to do on or around the lake (paddling, canoeing, swimming) (quiet walk/count 1h00, jogging or fishing).

Stunning! Loved the Lake. So picturesque. We had a large camper and managed to park easily either in car park or at side of road. Great for paddle boarding, swimming and cooling off after a day of MTB. Number of small bars and restaurants nearby also.

Came on vacation to Les Gets. (20 mins away).
Super exotic lake in a magnificent setting. Free parking nearby.
Possibility of picnicking on site, bars restaurants.
Translucent, clean water, bring suitable shoes because large stones are slippery but not sharp.
Possibility of going around the lake for around 3km. Water activities (paddle rental, kayak, canoe).
Starting point for various hikes including the Ardent waterfall 40 minutes away on foot.

Magnificent natural mountain lake among the fir trees. The surroundings are well laid out and you can go around it on foot either by walking or running (the tour is around 3km with a slight difference in altitude). There are also water activities possible.

The view is stunning, the lake looks great.
Rented a paddle board and after wading though the silt, dead fish (seriously) and old bits of concrete block, took out a rental paddle board that would not go straight- turns out there was no fin to it (which is a bit like renting a bike you can’t steer...)
Staff were totally dismissive and couldn’t care less. No refund allowed.
So, wonderful location, great views and brilliant kids facilities- just don’t give the rental muppets your money!

Really lovely spot for a picnic, a swim, kayak or paddle board or a gentle walk round the lake. Loads of free parking and a few restaurants for refreshments. Very scenic.

Very pretty lake, great for a walk around and sunbathing in sunny weather (although it does get very busy then). Lots of parking in the car parks and on the road. We hired 2x stand up paddle boards for kids and they had a ball (the hire place does get very busy too, so best hire equipment when they first open at 11 or at around 4pm). If you want a swim, the water is very cold and banks are muddy, so bring a rashie (only triathlon types were in wetsuits) and maybe some watershoes.

This is a great place to spend an afternoon or two if you’re in the area. The freshwater lake is great to swim in and there is the opportunity to hire paddle boards etc if you are so inclined. We were on a two week stay here and visited several times usually after some more strenuous activities in the morning. Some good restaurants around the lake as well.

Well worth a visit for a relaxing walk, run, bike, swim, paddle board, yoga on water, kayak, fishing, lazy lie down, meal etc. Suitable for individuals, families, young, old and infirm. Great for cliché mountain scenery photography, or even innovative photos if so minded. Highly recommended!

So the main lake can be swum in, and is beautiful, but next to it is a purpose built swimming lake with shelved entry point.
In the summer it's lovely for the kids. I haven't seen a lifeguard here, but we last swum in it in June, so perhaps in high season.
Anyhow, there are buses to Morzine and free parking, and as of 2018 a nice cafe here to.

We are coming to Morzine in early August with a 10 year old and 5 year old. We are planning to go paddle boarding and swimming in Lac Montriond. Is the water cold enough that we need wetsuits?
Written 25 July 2018
It is a mountain lake, above 1000m in altitude. Swimming without wetsuits will be for very short periods only. Nearby, Lac Leman, which never freezes and is at only 374m, never gets above 19 Celsius. I swam there 2 weeks ago and it took a long time to get in!

Environ 1 bonne heure.

Hi, we are coming to Morzine 25th October for 4 nights. Can anyone help and advise if anything is open? Is it possible still to do pony rides? Is the goat village open? Any ideas or thoughts on what we can do and visit would be greatly appreciated. We have a car so travel is not a problem. Many thanks. Carol
Written 22 October 2017
I would be very surprised if the pony rides are open as holiday activities tend to close at the end of August. The restaurant at the lake is open all year and the walk around the lake and then up to the cascade is beautiful.
Although the lifts won't be running you will be able to drive towards the top of most of the surrounding peaks and then do some of the walks.
The indoor pool will be open in Morzine.
The tourist office in town should have walking guides.
If you feel like the drive, about 45 minutes, then Evian is lovely for a morning or afternoon
