Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I spent an afternoon and a morning exploring this stunning forest. The afternoon walk was our introduction to the many magnificent trees, butterflies ,insects and fungi. We walked on the aerial boardwalk amongst the canopies of trees that were in some instances 500 years old and more. We could hear many birds but they weren’t out priority that afternoon.
Early the next morning we met up with our expert bird guide Junior. We were at once on a mission to find the spotted ground thrush and the bronze napped pigeon. After walking the boardwalk once again and spotting my lifers of the Eurasian golden oriole, the grey cuckoo shrike, and black bellied starling, we decided to explore the forest ground on the walking trail. We were very fortunate to view the spotted ground thrush but unfortunately the bronze napped pigeon tormented us with his call but refused to be seen. As compensation however we has seen the lemon dove and green twinspot at the bird hide the afternoon before.
I highly recommend Dlinza forest but would definitely urge anyone interested in birds to go with Junior.

This was our main reason for visiting Eshowe, it’s a gem that is worth visiting, we were the only people there on the day we visited, the boardwalk is a lovely view of what lies beneath, the trails shouldn’t be missed, my husband can’t walk uneven trails which is a shame as that’s where the real beauty lies, I started a trail on my own, when the security guard caught my attention he said I’ll show you, he’d told my husband he would, what an experience he knew where to look, he found the tiniest frog I’d never had seen, then all the fungi, so beautiful, he told about the trees and showed me one that had fallen and was dying but how it had given life to another, truly fascinating. It’s not on the main tourist itineraries but it’s definitely worth a visit.

Somewhat of a hidden gem in Northern Natal. No other tourists on the day we visited. Staff was very friendly and encouraged our family to do the trail which was well worth it. The children enjoyed the aerial walkway.

A beautiful oasis in Eshowe. The aerial walkway is great, and gives a unique view into the forest, especially the upper reaches. Fantastic bird life, and the plant life is stupendous. Lots of orchids. Gives a new perspective on the region and native plant life.

A must if you are in the area, worth taking a guided trail so that you can be informed about the good things you see in nature. Also do the "top of the forest" a steel structure that gives you a bird's eye view. Carry cash for the entrance fee there was no card/visa machine available to pay electronically. Use comfortable shoes as the trail can get very steep and in some area's very slippery.

Well maintained, tidy facility with easy access for most. Staff very friendly and helpful. We went as a group mainly to look at orchids and some into birds. Lots of other special things to see if one takes time to really look. Chameleons and frogs

Beautiful place with a lot of trees, being in Dlinza forest will make you feel so small in a good way, you feel so indulged just by being surrounded by nature and all you hear is the sound of chirping birds in their natural habitat.

My third visit to Dlinza. What a wonderful community initiative. It is accessible with a normal vehicle, giving people without 4x4s the opportunity to experience a forest like Ongoye as well. There are trails through the forest (1.3 and 1.8km) with many trees marked and described in detail. The aerial boardwalk allows you to see the canopy as well, and the lookout tower has an impressive view. The picnic spot is also picturesque. Payment by cash or Zapper, not card.

This forest in the town is a haven for birds. The aerial boardwalk is a must see in this town. There are also numerous other trails in the forest. Imagine the Zulus hiding their wives, and even an army in the forest during attacks.
