Admittedly I haven't been to every market in Asia, but chiang mai's Sunday night market was fantastic. Reasonable prices and easy to barter. We ended up collecting a whole other bag full of souvenirs, presents, clothes. Perfect for the start of our trip (not)! I'd...More

For miles and miles of pleasure go to this market. Music, stuff to buy, food, everything is here. And...you will find some authentic stuff as well, not only the regular toeristic goods. I say: do it

I've been to my fair share of markets in Thailand, and this one is my favorite. A little less expensive and touristy than the Night Bazaar, and a little less overwhelming (although it is still HUGE). There's a wide selection of things to buy and...More

The night market is excellent. A lot of products available. The price is so cheap but with good quality. You can try various local food with a very reasonable price.

Wow what a night market! They close the Main Street and set up lots of stalls selling everything! We went all the way to the end. Stopped for 2 for 1 beers at Moon Paper something... Good market!! Wear comfortable shoes!!

Loved the fact that there was so much variety and it's obvious most of it if not all is handmade and local rather than the small stuff at every second stall. Goes over numerous streets and the selection of food is incredible - something for...More

Since it is a "night" market I think it won't be open in the early afternoon. On the other hand, if you go before it opens there also won't be any crowds either.
