Very interesting visit at just under 2 hours with pineau and cognac tasting to finish. Reasonably priced at 5€ per person. The delightful young lady showing us around had excellent English and of course perfect French! The bamboo was exceptional and all the other exotic plants to look at, taste and smell under supervision. Well worth a visit.

We visited La Bambouseraie just a few days ago. The online booking process was simple and efficient as we printed of the receipt and this was accepted with no problem. We arrived in time and the office was empty however we called the phone number provided and M. Brisson appeared shortly thereafter. The visit was very good. Although M Brisson did not speak much English and we do not speak a great deal of French but we got through the visit with the occasional help of Google Translate!! This garden is not all about bamboo! There are plenty more plants, flowers and animals to see. And, at the end of the garden visit, you can sample and buy the Brisson Pineau , Cognacs and Cognac Liqueurs which we did!!

We visited as a family (with 2 children, 11 and 14) and all loved it. Joan was the perfect host and although his English was limited and our French was also limited, we did manage to understand enough.
He has an amazing garden, both with the bamboo that stretches to the sky and also his extensive collection of plants. He showed us his Harry Potter mandrake and let us smell and taste so many of his wonderful plants. It was a real experience for us and it will appeal to children of all age.

Myself and my family did enjoy our visit however if you cannot speak much French then you will struggle on the tour. We don't blame Joan of course for our lack of French, just wanted to warn future English tourists. The garden is beautiful with some lovely animals as well. Incredible smells and very peaceful even if the children decide to climb and carry old bamboo.

Joan Brisson couldn’t have been a more congenial, engaging host as he walked us around the bambouseraie and distillery. The children loved the secluded garden where the range and scale of bamboo is staggering and oddly (I’m not a garden enthusiast) fascinating. I'd happily go back. A slight note of caution, the cognac is, I would say, expensive compared to many of the other houses nearby though lovely.
