Sheltered jewel

Lago di Lavarone is the lake on which this area is centred. There is no town of Lavarone, just a collection of small villages/hamlets within walking distance of the lake. We were based in Chiesa at the head of the lake, with superb views over the small lake. For anyone wishing to venture away from the water there are interesting walks and attractions, like the fort at Belveder and a World War 1 cemetery near Bertoldi. The lake itself is very small, and because of that it is a bit of a tourist trap, despite the altitude the water temperature is reasonable, but be prepared to pay for the privilege of bathing. The water can be accessed without paying, but not easily. The two "beaches" on the lake both require payment, but ar quite popular despite this. The lake was our "centre", and OK for us to sit and relax after walking the trails around the valley. There is a good, cheap, bus service in the area, but almost everywhere can be reached on foot, or at least, bus one way and return on foot. I wouldn't class the lake itself as Very Good,, too busy for my taste, but the surrounding countryside redeems the area.

Great for swimming

Beautiful lake, lots of bars, gelataria and cafes around. Pedalos to hire, lots of different areas to sit or sunbathe. Fantastic for swimming.

Nice!
Aug 2018 • Family
We enjoyed our visits here as it's a picturesque, clean lake in a gorgeous area. The main downsides though were that the nicest parts of the lake you have to pay to enter (25 euros for family of 4), you also have to.pay for parking per hour, and each of the 3 days we came here we had thunderstorms and down pours with no shelter. We were passed to find the nearby, free and more temperate Caldonazzo

Nice small lake in a wonderfull area. Not to many tourists. In this lake you can swim, pedal or kayak. There's also a beach where you can rent sunbeds and have a drink.

Relaxing afternoon in the mountains
Aug 2015 • Friends
Very enjoyable afternoon, relaxing on the loungers by the beach. All four of us had a swim which was very refreshing. Fantastic pool area for kids. Pedalos and canoes also available. Price of parasol reasonable considering need for shade from hot sun. Lots of benches to sit on around lake, outside of beach area if you don't want lake access.
