Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is close to broken beach,so you can visit these two place in one time,i visited both places in june last year.that time the tide was high, the waves quite strong,so cannot go down to the billabong, please refrain yourself if the local guide stop you to go down, cuz some tragedies did happened in the past.i noticed some tourist dont know this, they want to try, then the local there shout at them, actually they will fence off the place, forbid anyway to go down,so dont try to trepass it.the billabong just like a natural pool, the colour is crystal clear blue, very charming, though cant swim here still worth a visit.

Every tourist operator brings their customers here hence very crowded. At/near high tide no one is allowed access to the rock pool as there have been a number of incidents where people have been washed back in to the sea. My visit coincided with near high tide. I think the authorities should ban access to the rock pool altogether and just allow mother nature to be admired for what it is.

We were amazed by how Mother Nature had created this magnificent rock pool. The scenic view to the cliffs and the ocean from here was worth to spend 2 hours from the port, with the last 2-3km was underdeveloped. However, since this has been a tourist hotspot, it was so crowded and messy.

Angel's Billabong was great to see, even though while we went, the Billabong was closed to the public (it was roped off, and the water didn't look very pleasurable because of the tides and ability to rinse out the stagnant water). There was still massive swells coming in and was great to see the ocean meet a very serene area. It's about 10 minute walk away from Broken Beach as well, so it's great for exploring by foot (swimming is not allowed in either area due to the current, though supposedly swimming in Angel's Billiabong is/was allowed at times... we don't know that answer), as the area around has some great food and beautiful picturesque areas.

Angels Billabong is closed to the public. Some selfie taker Instagrammer got swept away in the current as she wasn't paying attention to the tide. Closed to the public means you can still view it from cliff top, you just aren't allowed to go down anymore.

Overtourism at its absolute worst. Masses of people crowded together and jostling to get a spot for a photograph/ selfie. Amazes me how throngs of people travel all this distance to come and enjoy what was probably once an untramelled and beautifully scenic spot ... and throw and leave trash and burning cigarettes wherever they walk or stand. We found the whole scene depressing and couldnt get out of there fast enough.

We arrived at Angel's Billabong around 4pm. Despite all eateries and shops are closed at this time, the area are more calm and less touristy. The area are scenic and nice for a walk. And our guide even explain the myth behind Broken Beach. We even spotted school of dolphin from above.

Lovely ‘natural infinity pool’, plan your trip around tide times, only swim at low tide as the sea will crash into the pool at medium/high tide can an n could know even strong swimmers into the sharp rocky walls. Lots of tourists up the top but if you go early or later it is less crowded. Worth a visit for pretty rock formation and an unusual swim.

The road to it is very bad, potholes everywhere. This road is very bad for 1200 meters long. Angel's Billabong is close to Broken Beach, so you can combine these acts.
Billabong means a dead end river. You can enjoy the view and the waves crashing against the jagged rocks beech. And you could take a dip in this 'pool'.
This is not recommended!!!

Our driver picked us up on the pier straight from the ferry from Denpasar and took us here (mind it is on the other side of the island and the roads are not the best so it took us about 50min). There is a lot of vendors with water, soda and especially ice cream (ice cream is about 30.000rp-2$ for a very generous portion). There are simple toilets everywhere (5000rp -0.30$). Beautiful views, multiple photo spots and if you have a guide you will get really beautiful pics (the guides seem to be very proficient in instagram). As the place is very popular it can get crowded but there is enough space for everyone. You are gonna be hiking a little bit, the terrain is uneven and there is quite a number of high steps, sneakers are recommended.
