Great scenic spot but be cautious about swimming here
Angel's Billabong is a large scenic rock pool, located on a cliff shelf on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida. It is situated adjacent to Pasih Uug Beach (Broken Beach), about 1hr drive from Toya Pakeh, although the last couple of kilometres are along a rough track (which is fairly tortuous if you are on a scooter). It's called Angel's Billabong because according to local mythology this is where an angel came to bathe. The parking at Angel's Billabong is free but you'll have to pay if you park at Broken Beach. There is a toilet at the car park and a couple of stalls, selling refreshments near the rock pool. The rock pool is picturesque at low tide and you can swim in it (though I'd suggest wearing reef shoes as the rocks can get fairly slippery). As it is a tidal rock pool when the tide comes in the waves crash into the area with savage ferocity. There are no lifesavers here and a number of tourists have died at this spot after being washed out to sea - so take precautions (find out when the tide is coming back in before you go swimming) or just take some selfies with the pool/cliff behind you.

Waves crashing against the jagged rocks.
The road to it is very bad, potholes everywhere. This road is very bad for 1200 meters long. Angel's Billabong is close to Broken Beach, so you can combine these acts. Billabong means a dead end river. You can enjoy the view and the waves crashing against the jagged rocks beech. And you could take a dip in this 'pool'. This is not recommended!!!

    Magnificent rock pool
We were amazed by how Mother Nature had created this magnificent rock pool. The scenic view to the cliffs and the ocean from here was worth to spend 2 hours from the port, with the last 2-3km was underdeveloped. However, since this has been a tourist hotspot, it was so crowded and messy.

    Unique experience
Every tourist operator brings their customers here hence very crowded. At/near high tide no one is allowed access to the rock pool as there have been a number of incidents where people have been washed back in to the sea. My visit coincided with near high tide. I think the authorities should ban access to the rock pool altogether and just allow mother nature to be admired for what it is.

Beautiful union of sea and land
This is close to Broken Beach probably a 5-10 mins walk away. There's a beautiful natural pool formed where people were taking a dip during low tide. We were lucky enough to experience both the low as well as high tide and could see the difference. Quite a unique experience overall.

    A really cool coastline
Really cool to come here on a blustery day and watch the waves crash against the rocks - it makes for some great photos and videos. Parking the scooter is 5,000 rupiah. Try to time your trip to avoid all the day trip tourists.

Very busy area. There was a restriction to how close you could walk to the edge as the sea levels had been very high although when we went the tide was out and so you could see the base rather than crashing waves.

The water level was fairly high when we arrived. It was neat how the water would move in and out. Not recommended to go in even if water level is low.

Beautiful but a lot crowded.

It’s a beautiful place but you will find a lot of tourist.
It’s a magnificent view to see how the sea has made a different place with rock bed separately,

Yes, its a beautiful spot, for sure.
But but but...
Business is booming for the locals, which is good for them, of course.
But theres starting to be a lot of rubbish everywhere on the walk between Billabong and Broken beach...lots....better to try to pick it up and control it now before it gets out of hand, eh ?
And also the greediness is starting to show....for ex same charging for photos at certain places etc etc...
Its starting to feel like big business....tons of tourists....moore and moore...guides telling you to move when you trying to enjoy the scenery - so the guides can take photos of their clients posing....huh...
Not enjoyable experience anymoore.
Very sad.

We came in the beginning of Feb and it was so sunny. Rocky beach with stiff cliff. Tides decide if you can swim or not. Amazing view to the sea.

Nothing special, worth a quick look because just next door to broken beach witch is the main attraction. Most important don’t join tour to be there only 5 minutes. Organize everything on your own
