Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are driving in the the Lahemaa National Park this is a must do. We did it after the bog walk about a 20 min drive away.

Although derelict and abandoned sub base beautiful to see and a brand new cafe built May 2022 easily spent an hour here but not presently disabled access but will suite people with no mobility issues.

An interesting outdoors place, if you are into Soviet era, military, scenic views and something different than just a neat-and-tidy museum experience. It could be pretty windy out there so be prepared of that. It can be seen that work has been done to improve the visiting experience (text here an there, some pics, safety measures) but it still needs some improvements to perhaps make it more exciting (some audio guides, lightning solutions for better visualisation of the architecture and graffiti etc). If the restaurant/cafe is open while you visit - the better.

Probbly a good place to visit only with a guide, otherwise the 6 eur entrance fee is not worth at all. Going with kids or with older people is a very dangerous place, since many metal sharp ends are everywhere. The couple of buildings still standing are in very bad shape and if something falls is your own responsability.

If you want to see something different in the Lahemaa NP, this old submarine base maybe interesting. Not many tourists come here, so I felt a bit like an urban explorer. I visited in the middle of the day, but for really cool photos you should come early in the morning or late in the evening. The light will be much better. There is ticket booth, but it was closed So I just went in.

The ruins of the submarine base are very interesting and feature some interesting graffiti art as well. The scenery around it is absolutely breathtaking. Worth a visit!

If your interested in beautiful landscape and history all together then Hara is a place you should not miss. It’s a place to feel the cool breath of the Cold War, while appreciating the wonderful Hara Bay at the same time. Be sure to come early, otherwise you might be charged horrendous 10 Euros - in that case for nothing -then a interesting view...

Really enjoyed my stay at projekt-Kodu eco-hostel in lahemaa national park. The forest is magical & the spirit of the site resonated deep within me. I feel like I was reborn. The sauna was possibly the most comfortable I have ever been, and I am someone who knows how to be comfortable! Thanks to Jim, who is charming & considerate host. He is an inspiration. I really enjoyed cycling through the forest & visiting the submarine base.

Jim from Project Kodu took me here. Amazing to see what this place once was under Soviet rule. I highly recommend this trip.
