A must visit ...when in Ravangla....Tathagata Tsal or Buddha Park in Ravangla is located higher up from the town market place. You need to take local taxi or your car , ticket cost Rs 50 per adult, parking free. Elders and people with joint pains can have slow walk or can avoid the climb of stairs to the main monastery. Photography is not allowed in the place of worship , which is located below the 130 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. It has fascinating wall paintings depicting life phases of Lord Buddha within it. The place has lovely ambiance for meditation and worship. The outside park is scenic and photography is allowed outside. The background has the majestic Himalayan peaks , Kanchenjunga visible clearly.

Tathagata Tsal, more famously known as Buddha Park, has a mammoth 130 feet high statue of Buddha on the northern end of the park. There's an entry ticket that you need to buy for the park and once inside, you're greeted by a lot of stairs. After navigating through the stairs, you reach the monastery and would be amazed to see beautiful murals all over the high walls explaining the life of Buddha. Just next to it, there is a never-ending pathway with prayer wheels on both sides, which turns into a nice walkway along the park. All in all, it is a huge park, where you can spend a lot of time, just sitting and chilling with family while the kids have a gala time running around.

This Buddha park (Tathagatha Tsal) is perhaps the best site in Sikkim. Depending on the weather, it’s really relaxing place, especially if you can visit in the early morning.
