Too crowded on weekends. The safari jeep drivers do a fast clip to get their second rounds and scare the animals..On the other hand, take a nice slow self drive along the public roads on the Tholpetty Kattikulam Thirunelli roads during early morning and evening and you will see all the animals on the road side itself..Lovely roads and scenic... The time spent in the Wyanad Wildlife Sanctuary is time well-spent: even if you don't see tigers, the money you pay helps to maintain nature reserves like this.

All you get to see is elephants and deer. If you visit nisargadhama (madikeri), you will have better view of the deer. They charge 110/person and 600/jeep which is not worth the money.

Our driver had sorted out the guide and we went out in the afternoon after many of the other jeeps had left. The process for getting your tickets is a pain and as there are limited jeeps allowed in the afternoon, you need to get there early to queue, otherwise you risk not going out. Our guides were very observant... More

Our excitement levels are always raised when anticipating a wildlife safari.... sadly, in India, we've been disappointed. Wayanad Wildlife Park was no different. I guess it is because there are only the specific circular routes that jeeps can follow. So yesterday we drove at roughly two minute intervals in a circle around a small part of the park. In truth,... More

Muthanga National Park is 13 km away from Sultan Bathery and offers nice forest safari. We opted for the morning safari. No advance booking is possible. Tickets are available 1 hour before safari. Only 40 jeeps (7 persons in each jeep) will be allowed in every safari session. So go there well ahead of time. Reach there preferably within 5.30... More

The Forest Ride as usual starts at early in the morning and at the evening. Per the Forest personal, the best time for Safari is the first in the bunch at the evening where you can have a good sight possibility ( Still your luck needs to favor you). Never miss to buy Forest Honey in the forest store just... More

Apart from the unexpected double the cost charges to foreigners, we must learn from this back home, the Sanctuary is a great morning / afternoon day out. The jeeps are very bumpy, not good if you suffer from back conditions and also the seats in the back are too high for the height of the roof. Simply put, if your... More

We took the jeep 1 hour safari but could not see any wildlife except for a few deers and some birds. One can book online for the safari. Another group which went ahead of us saw some elephant herds. Overall an average safari experience.
