Amazing place to stay on Salkantay trek. You have a view to mountains and Machu Picchu, even from the toilet (the cleanest one in whole Peru ;) ). Where else can you find this? :) Plus there is a really nice guy (speaking english), his lovely mother (who can prepare tasty breakfast for you for really fair price). We also could make a fire on marked place which is quite romantic while watching the stars. You can build your tent also under a roof in case of rain. Possible to buy some refreshments, source of water included. It is the second camp when you get up the hill. Recommend to stay there!

After two challenging days of hiking "Salkantay Trek" we arrived at at the Viewpoint and Campsite "Mirador Llactapata". The view was breathtaking and the friendly owner welcomed us with a campfire and a binocular to have a first accurate look on Machu Picchu. The climb up to Llactapata is though but a 100% rewarding. Definitely the best view on the trek and not a bit crowded because the tours don't go there!
