A charming village with an excellent pub and two churches to visit. St. Petrock, which is a little way out of the village is definitely worth visiting, being built in the 13th century, but Christ Church also also worth a visit, if only for the view of Holwell Castle, a remarkably well preserved example of a Norman motte and bailey... This village is only about 3 minutes drive off the A39. It is very picturesque and has a pottery that was closed when we came by this evening. THe Fox and Goose pub is lovely and does great food.

A truly wonderful village with a step back in time feel about it.It is handily situated between Lynton/Lynmouth and Ilfracombe and we have just spent our last week here in nearby Voley, brambly cottage.A beautiful little part of north devon.
