Bad tourism

Maybe the ugliest beach I saw in the whole Algarve. You go there just because you have to visit the Benagil cave.
Beach is overcrowded and overexploited. All is full of boats, kayaks and rental establishments.

Nice beach and caves visit by boat
Oct 2020 • Couples
Perfect beach for an afternoon of sunbathing or swimming (brrrr). Free car park and ATM on top of the hill. 5 minutes walk to the beach. Snackbar available at the beach for small meals and drinks. This is also where you board for a boat ride to the wonderful caves and Algarve rocks.

Benagil cave and beach
Sep 2020 • Couples
The Benagil beach itself is small but still nice. Most people come here for the water activities: boat ride into various caves in the area, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. There are plenty of places near by that you can hire from. Quite a popular spot - if you like quiet beaches, especially during these covid times - this beach may not be for you.

The main cave is just to the left of the beach (you have to go around one small headland). There were people swimming to the cave - though definitely don’t recommend unless you can swim confidently and be mindful of all the boats and kayaks etc at the same time.

The shops around the beach were open and there are two free car parks: you’ll come across the smaller one as you approach the beach, and a big one about 50m further down towards the beach. Easy walk to the beach from both.
We arrived just after 10am and still seemed to have lots of car parks but as we were leaving around 1pm it was full.

Overall, a great place to experience water activities!

Aug 2020
Beautiful Natural Scenery however

No Social Distancing Measures in place whatsoever

No Warnings or explanations given as to how to use the boats and what to do in emergency, well you can't really expect more in the second world country that portugal is

Incredible place

Incredible place! It's really beautiful. I went to the cave in paddle. A little dangerous with all the boats around and the big waves. But if you are confident, it is worth it

Tour to the caves. Must see
Aug 2020 • Family
Not worth to spend more then 15 min on the beach.
Cave tour is totally worth the time and money. In the summer time we even did cave swimming.
In the winter, of course you have less people, but it's not the swimming suits trip. Both times worth what you pay for. Carefully choose the company you go with, call ahead to make the reservation, so you don't need to wait in the line.

Kayak and boat trips to Benagil
Jul 2020 • Couples
Nothing special. Avoid spending time at the beach, as there are some skinky locals looking for trouble. Simply do your boat or kayak tour to the caves and spend time in other beaches, like Praia da Marinha.
