A beautiful and very clean fun beach to spend all your day and enjoy warm turquoise water of the sea.

Facilities: No Public Toilets

Restaurant: 2 very good restaurants to have amazing food and drinks. Be prepared to pay a minimum charge of 600IDR for a couple. Worth it,

A beautiful beach with clear blue waters. Saw people swimming. The beach was busy as a large group of school children from Java were visiting. One of balis cleanest beach where you can swim near the coral. Very calm and friendly locals. 10k per person. 2k parking.Great beach for swimming, the water was calm and beautiful. Easy setup to be self sufficient or one could indulge in one of the many beach clubs.

The beach is beautiful, better take a look at the tides because the currents can be quite strong. The best situation is low tide or somewhere in between, incredible natural pools form. I couldn’t find it written anywhere but I think it’s important: grab can leave you but can’t pick you up. So negotiate the amount in advance to bring, wait and recover. Or do the climb on foot and get out of the no grab area, but it’s a nice hike

Very interesting beach. We visited eastern side, stayed several hours and swam there. No waves. Beach is safe for swimming. No problem with parking space. Local temple is very impressive. I recommend this beach for visiting.

To the south of the island next to a number of beach resorts and high value hotels. It’s a bit more organised (we paid 35k Rpa to get us 3 and taxi through the security gate) than other beaches with limited ability to get away with internet taxi or moped so book return with private taxi before you come or you can get stung by the beach taxis.

Long sandy beach with a few small warung bars and cafe. Some decent sun beds and parasols. We paid 150k Rpa for total three beds and parasol all day.

Not too crowed although as public holiday on our visit later on the afternoon the locals and Indonesian visitors arrived and added to the numbers but still not crowded.

At high tide the waves to the beach were very strong and red flags were out but you could swim if strong swimmer. Further out the big waves were crashing against the reef and o guess the beach waves were getting over the reef. Later on the reef stopped the waves and the beachfront became very flat and easily swimmable. Decent sand as well for first 30m before the rocks of the reef.

Would recommend for a day. Not as fun as Padang padang beach or tower surf beaches and food limited unless you hit the beach clubs. But for sunbathing and swimming it is perfect.

After my amazing solo traveler day trip to Nusa Dua, my driver suggested we head south to the Southern most part of the island where I was introduced to Melasti Beach. This beautiful beach is situated way below the limestone cliffs which you have to pay an entry fee (equal to $1 USD) which goes to the preservation of this newly built road which leads you to the bottom of the Cliff where the Melasti beach is nestled in. I was told that before the government decided to invest in this new road, you had to literally climb down the cliff it self in order to reach the beach, where there were only a few make shift cafes and bars. This beach is perfect for Sunset views in any of the beach clubs located along the beachfront. The last of the rays of sun are purple and gray with plums of gold woven into the night sky. This beach is great for star gazing as well. The only problem is most beach clubs close around 8pm in this area so getting here early is a must to get the most out of the experience. This was a true gift on my birthday Bali solo traveler vacation.

I'm not sure if this beach has changed I'm recent times, as the other reviews are glowing. I was recommended to come here by hotel staff and found the place quite depressing. There was a lot of construction, so the background noise was power tools, and the beach even had a bulldozer on it and lots of rubble and rubbish. If you like beach clubs with loud music this place could be for you, it just wasn't what I was after. I may have caught a bad tide, but the water was fairly dangerous to swim in with a steep drop off and waves that washed you out. If you can drive here on a bike it could be worth a look, but if you're taking a taxi, it absolutely wasn't worth the fare.

Excellent beach- when the tide is right you can swim in the refreshing water. Sun beds for rent (100k-200k depending on time and crowd) water is clean and refreshing. Plenty of day clubs around as well. Come early and enjoy or stay late for sunset

I visited Bali for the first time in my life with a larger group back in February. I spent 10 days on this amazing island, among even more amazing people. We were halfway through our stay when we checked out of our accommodation in Ubud and headed to our new lodging in Nusa Dua. We knew we would stop in Ungasan, at Melasti Beach, on the way to see a traditional Balinese dance performance called Kecak.

To be honest, I didn't know what to expect, I had no particular idea or expectation, so I eagerly awaited the show. I have to say that I spent the most memorable 10 days of my life in Bali, and the best part was Kecak!

This fantastic performance was the most defining experience for me, and it had a huge impact on me! The captivating atmosphere and the enormous energy I received from it caused a cathartic experience, and I was under its spell for days afterward...I will never forget it!

I am grateful to the Balinese people and the staff at Melasti Beach, who I am visible with in my profile picture! If you visit Bali, you must come here! Everyone needs to experience this!
