It is what it is, a hill with lots of monkeys. We loved it. I had heard they can be aggressive and however much I’d urge caution we didn’t see any aggression. Lovely natured and very intelligent. Once you’ve run out of bits/bananas just show...More
A good, sweaty walk up the hill for exercise (about a mile or so) with fruit sold at the base for 20 baht. Remember, if you've been to Ubud's Sacred Monkey Forest, Don't be an idiot! Take off glasses, bracelets and anything a monkey will...More
Interested in monkeys?? Go to monkey hill and buy some bananas for any stall holder on the hill, cost less than $1, however be careful as some of the monkeys can get a little excited and try and grab all the bananas or any food...More
Great place to hike and Vine across some monkeys. Beware that they aren't as cute as they look. We were told beforehand not too have valuables on display.
Good to visit for you want a good walk with a great view from the top!
We went on a taxi tour around Phuket island whilst on holiday and our taxi driver recommended this hill - it was absolutely fantastic. You can feed the monkeys at the roadside and unlike my experience on Gibraltar many years ago the monkeys are not...More
The walk up the hill was very tiring, so wear good shoes if you're gonna walk up the hill. Keep in mind that cars are not allowed to drive up the hill between 16.00-19.00 (because people are exercising). If you bring food to feed the...More
Not for the faint hearted or frail as the walk is a killer. Definitely take a couple bottles of water with you.

Beautiful lookout and being able to watch the monkeys just hanging out, doing what they do was much fun. My 9 yo loved it and was happy to see the monkeys out where they belong. We were the only ones on the Hill making it...More

Monkey Hill is in Phuket. If you mean how far from Phuket Town, it is less than 10 minutes by car, maybe a couple of kilometers away. I’m not sure of the price as I don’t recall, but I can tell you that the hill closes to vehicles and scooters at 4 pm. So make sure you have your ride come before then, otherwise you’ll have to walk down the hill to the main gate to meet up with your transportation.
Yes, the monkeys are long tailed macaques. So cute! Consider reading my review for some safety tips to ensure you have the best experience possible! Really worth the visit.
My opinion is that between noon and 3 is a good time to go. At dusk and dark the monkeys will put themselves to bed/retreat back into the forest.
Have fun and enjoy!
