Mandatory reservation. Little advice, if you arrive ten minutes late it's best. In fact, you enter directly after the ticket office into a short route including explanatory tables for 30 minutes. In 10 minutes, we had time to do everything without rushing. Then you attend a 30/45 min tasting which is quite interesting. This is also the reason why I give this visit a 3/5 because the tasting saves the pitiful discovery tour. The tasting ends with a short visit to the shop but be careful to remember to bring an insulated bag for transport because at 30 degrees the chocolate will quickly melt.

    Excellent visit
Excellent visit. 1/2 hour free visit. And an hour with a guide who takes the time to explain everything about cocoa and let you taste different chocolates. Tastings are done in full intelligence without crowds. Everything is very well organized.

    Very interesting
We start with a completely independent visit to the cocoa garden with explanations and quizzes here and there. Then, we sit on benches like at school to follow the host's explanations on the process of transforming the chocolate pod. Finally, we finish with tastings of cocoa bean and chocolate. Very interesting visit, I recommend especially to families with children.

    Very nice
You must register to visit the Maison du Cacao. First we visit a garden full of cocoa trees and other fruit trees, there are explanatory panels on cocoa cultivation. Then comes the time for tasting: we taste the pod seeds then all the preparations for making chocolate: very interesting! Then of course you have to stop by the store.

    Very nice discovery
Excellent visit yesterday! We arrived a little before the appointment time (remember to make a reservation, it is really crowded). We waited on a shaded terrace with tables and chairs. The visit begins with a free moment in the well-organized garden. Then the explanations and tastings take place. The explanations are very interesting and the young woman was very pleasant. The tastings are surprising. We had a lovely time with our 2 daughters aged 16 and 19, a great discovery!

30-45 minutes to visit the garden with its panels and explanations on cocoa, its origin... then come for the best, the tasting and the explanations! It’s very interesting, and the person presenting is very professional and explains well! A good time with the family! Although the youngest get impatient during the explanations! But hey… it’s very good!!

A good chocolate a bad visit
Disappointed with this visit…. Highly recommended by acquaintances, we let ourselves be tempted by this establishment. A visit/tasting for 10€ (but we'll come back to that) the price is apparently correct but the disappointment is not hidden. There “tour” of the park for 40 visitors simultaneously without a guide, leaving us wandering for 10 minutes max in this garden of around a hundred m2 with indications on cocoa production seems to me a poorly thought out pretext…. Then the tastings…. For a cocoa producer I find it limiting to taste 10 poor grams of cocoa in 1 hour with a ridiculous presentation. The person responsible for helping us taste is not very pleasant and too directive, forcing people to stand where she wants! The information is banal and easily findable yourself (no anecdotes, no felt experiences). In short, a disappointment ended with a purchase of coffee chocolate which was very good! Buy the chocolate not the visit….

    To understand everything chocolate!
Find out all about cocoa. After a free visit in the small garden (medium interest) we go to serious things under the courtyard! We discover the whole history of cocoa with 7 progressive tastings starting from the rawest product to go towards surprising associations (chili pepper, Sichuan pepper...). You come out with lots of flavors in your mouth and lots of knowledge!

If you like chocolate, this place is for you
Friendly tour of the garden where you will learn a lot about pods and cocoa cultivation. The best part of the tour is the tasting where we are taught how to process cocoa to make chocolate and at the end you will be allowed to taste various chocolates. The cassava rocks but masterpiece is eager to taste the ones I bought.

A good time sharpening his taste buds.
The tour starts at a specific time with a free visit to the garden (about half an hour) where you can read panels on the history of chocolate. There are interactive (wooden) panels for children. (part we made in a tropical rain). Then we are made to sit under a courtyard and for about an hour, a person explains to us the different steps of making the chocolate(s) with tasting at each step. That's very interesting. Of course, the shop is waiting for us at the end of the tour. We took a gwo kako to make their wonderful hot chocolate back in metropolis as well as kakodou and cassava milk rocks ... a delight. Attention, Reservation strongly recommended in low season and quasi-mandatory in high season!

We chose this tour by default due to the rain but it was a very nice surprise. The start of the visit (route) is more or less interesting. Probably more so with young children. What’s great is the presentation on cocoa and chocolate. The person who gave us the presentation was passionate and she passed it on to us. And the icing on Sunday, the tasting, and not a little one! From beans to hot chocolate, including all chocolate varieties.
Because of all this great information, going to the store was much more expensive than access as such. But it's worth it😋

We booked on line as they only offer one tour a week in English (Wednesday @ 11.45) although there was only 6 of us so I am assuming it may not be necessary. We were told to wander around the garden for half an hour before our talk started which was a bit too long, even though there was information boards in French and English and we did wonder what we paid our €10 for. However the lady who did our talk was very interesting and informative explaining about the process and we got to try lots of different chocolate at the end which was amazing. The other tour in French running at the same time was much busier so I think we had a better experience being there were only 6 of us!

With our 3 children, we greatly appreciated the visit and particularly the tasting and explanation. Our children were very interested as were we and we appreciated that the gentleman answered kindly and patiently to our children's numerous questions, well done to him. ! The garden is also interesting and fun even if it is quickly done, we recommend this nice surprise visit and our children (11, 9, 9 years old) too!

Arrived at 5 people 5 minutes after the start of the 14:30 visit. On the said, indicated: reservation HIGHLY recommended. We have not booked and kindly ask if it is possible to join the group (there was room) dry and unsmiling answer of the young woman at the entrance NO. you have to go through the site.... reply of one of the members of the group with a smile: pity you lose 59 euros.... and there amazement, answer, it's okay we'll catch up... like, other pigeons will come in your place.... sorry... in view of other opinions, it's not the first time that there are complaints about the reception... but they should not be taken seriously. Too bad. The cocoa surf house may be on its success (which is not usurped because knowing the place, the tour is definitely worth the detour) please, do not take into account only favorable reviews, but pay attention to other reviews.
Tourists are not pigeons. Thank you.

We went to the scene. We had to deal with a rude and disrespectful young woman.
On the website,it is noted that the reservation is highly recommended. The person turned us away xar we had only booked.she told us that my reservation was mandatory contrary to what is marked
the site.

Very friendly welcome. Don't forget to book your visit online. Payment is made on site, 10 euros per person is very reasonable. We begin the visit with the very pretty garden in which we can have all the explanations concerning the origin, cultivation and processing of cocoa. The cocoa trees are before our eyes. Then the visit continues with tasting at different stages of chocolate which goes from the bean to the chocolate bar. This visit is very enriching and exciting even with children. It's a great discovery.

For a family visit which cost us 10 euros each including 40 euros all. We could have gone into the forest to look at the trees. It’s horribly expensive for a visit that doesn’t even last 10 minutes. For the tasting (and again the word tasting and a big word) we had a small tray for 4 and for the end of the tasting a base of chocolate drink. Likewise, there is a huge lack of maintenance, lots of dead leaves and dry roots.

For the cocoa house not to be visited too expensive, not maintained, and explanations too long on all for information already written during the visit.

We visited the cocoa house in the afternoon.
The tour is divided into 3 parts.

The first part of 30 minutes allows you to walk around the cocoa garden. The garden is small and the tour is therefore quite quickly carried out. It is nevertheless pleasant because shaded and has playful panels.

The second part of 1 hour, facilitated by a professional in the field will allow you to understand the stages of the life of chocolate and taste it!

Finally, the last part allows you to buy the products presented. While products are expensive, they are still good memories to bring back and quality products.

The lady who then offered us her explanations was fascinating and passionate, both young and old listened to her with great interest. We had a great time.
Everyone obviously enjoyed the tasting.
