It's an amazing beach and the province does a very good job keeping it in good condition with facilities on site. They are all under construction this summer but potra potties have been brought in as a replacement. The beach is very long and very sandy. When the tide goes it recedes a lot and reveals so much more beach. As a bonus a channel on the far right end of the beach has a current that be be floated in to travel down the beach. It can get pretty strong for weaker swimmers but the water is around 4 feet deep. It's a great beach for kids as the drop of the sea floor is very gradual so it's pretty shallow even away from the shore.

The beach is absolutely beautiful, and uncrowded. It was definitely worth the 50 minute drive from Dartmouth. The water is shallow and warm and the day we were there the waves were perfect for playing in. There are picnic tables, bathrooms, and changerooms, but the facilities need maintainence. There is no potable water or food vendor here, so make sure you bring enough water and whatever you want to eat. There were a few mosquitos around, but a little Off kept them away.

Nice beach with a relatively good surf. refreshing cool spot on a hot day. The sandcastle competition is a huge draw. If you go for this be prepared for a wait as there are so many attendees you will need to park a ways a way and grab a free shuttle bus. Well done festival, well worth attending...I will return and camp perhaps.

This is a fantastic beach. The sand is different-almost powdery. This may explain why they have an annual sand castle building competition. There are facilities on site.

Nice sandy beach stretching a long ways with mild surf the day we were there. There are change rooms and bathrooms which lead to the beach by a boadwalk. Dogs are allowed on leash.
