The Gran Union canal around Leighton Buzzard is a lovely place. Clean towpaths with field walks at the side. Loads of wildlife and good pubs positioned along it.

I live a stone's throw from the Grand Union Canal as it runs through Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. I've walked in sun, wind, rain and snow and never cease to find joy in the walk. Most visitors who are not boating on the canal will...More

The Grand Union Canal, Linslade Section, has a hard surfaced tow path suitable for all weather walking or cycling. Whilst being minutes away from a busy town it is very peaceful and tranquil. One of my favourite walks is to start at Tesco and head...More

Driving through Milton Keynes (that hadn't even been thought of when the canal was dug!), passed by the Great Union Canal - a relic of the motorways of the industrial revolution. Pretty walking area alongside the canal paths.

I take a walk along here every afternoon to take a break whilst working from home. It is always clean with hardly any litter and it’s usually pleasant.

Hired "Oak" from Wyvern Shipping for a fortnight's holiday, myself, husband and daughter. This is the best laid out narrowboat I have been on. Granted, it was one of the biggest, but little things like shelves along the wall by the bed for personal items,...More

Just had a 6 berth boat from Wyvern shipping for 4 days, great boat with all the comforts of home and exceptionally well maintained. We have been hiring boats for over 25 years and the experience with this company certainly rates in our top 3.

Rented our 45 foot narrowboat from Wyvern Shipping at Linslade for five days in the Grand Union Canal. Unfortunately this was a mistake as we should have rented for seven days! We cruised north to turn around at the bottom of the Stoke Bruerne locks,...More
