This is a review of the day trip from Manapouri (man a poor ee). Started with a 15min car ride from Te Anau (tea hour now) and we were given our tickets by very friendly staff. While we waited to be boarded a number of people were collecting their pre-purchased lunch. We had our own lunch. Lunches looked good though... More

Don't miss this overnight cruise to Doubtful Sound. It's truly amazing if you love nature and the staff is so knowledgeable. You won't be disappointed. Be prepared for rain and cold. We were lucky to have beautiful sunshine but I hear the rain brings the most beautiful waterfalls. No need for fancy clothes, just warm.

This is a review of the overnight cruise, which I cannot see separately listed on TripAdvisor. This 24 hour cruise was the stand-out highlight of our holiday in New Zealand - is was simply magnificent! Doubtful Sound is breathtakingly beautiful and this cruise allows you to see it at the best time of day to get the most out of... More

Everything about this trip was enjoyable. From the bus trip over the pass, to the ferry across the lake. And this is just to get to the sound to start the real trip. We did an overnight trip and shared a twin cabin. The cabin itself was fine and comfortable. Catering on board was excellent with a good choice of... More

An amazing trip! So worth the money spent! The scenery was breathtaking and the only place I have ever truly experienced "the sound of silence!" Have always said that the Milford Sound should be a number one on the "to do" list, now it has to be the number two on the list!,

Traveling from the US with my wife for a 2 week NZ trip, and I was totally torn on doing Milford vs Doubtful Sound, and day trip vs night trip. Ended up doing both with a day trip in Milford, and overnight in Doubtful, and let me tell you - the overnight Doubtful Sound trip has to be one of... More

Had an overnight cruise on the Navigator with the crew from Real journeys with my son. The trip over from Manaouri was stunning beautiful vistas, with the lake and mountains and native forests. The accommodation was great , good was fantastic and plenty of it. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable and joined in with activities with clients.

If you have the time ( two days) & budget, go on the overnight Doubtful Sound cruise. You can experience the Fiords in all their moods. Crew is very helpful and do a bit of everything . They do a week on and week off so become expert. . Naturalist commentary was great adding to our understanding of the Fiord.... More

Enjoyed the overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound with my honey. The ship holds 70 passengers and offer private cabins for two with an insuite shower and toilet in addition to other configurations. The food is good and the service form the young crew was excellent. Real Journeys does a superior job training their staff and it shows because they enjoy... More

I won't detail the travel for the overnight Doubtful Sound cruise but expect two long but exciting days. We actually enjoyed every aspect of the trip, the stops and the commentary. We were fortunate that we had beautiful sunny weather on the first day, so the kayaking was awesome although bug filled (take repellant) and the jump from the boat... More
