Really worth the short walk
Oct 2020
Staying in West Burton, the falls were a short walk from our cottage. They are accessible on foot with minimal effort and offer great photo opportunities! Despite the noise of the water there is a lively atmosphere as yo7 are surrounded by trees and bird song.

Fabulous waterfall and cascades
Aug 2020 • Couples
This waterfall is also known as cauldron falls.
If you only visit one waterfall in the Dales and want somewhere less touristy, these are the falls for you.
We visited after a period with lots of rain so they were particularly good
The main waterfall drops into a pool, it when cascades under a pretty arched bridge. There's plenty of flat rock and grassy areas and would be a perjswim in the pool below the waterfall.
I could have happily spend hours here.
There isn't much parking but that means that visitors are limited. I would also reccomend the homemade cake at the local shop.

Outstanding
Aug 2020
Also known as Cauldron Falls, this is a hidden Gem in the charming village of West Burton.

We walked from nearby Aysgarth (also well worth a visit) through the village to this hidden gem, there was a few families but not overcrowded and the views are stunning, amazing that this is free but there is the option to make a donation which we did.

After exploring and being able to get very close (safely) to the waterfall (the water is very refreshing!) we enjoyed a quick pint at The Fox and Hounds in the village.

A very enjoyable morning!

Cauldron Falls/West Burton falls
Aug 2020 • Family
We heard some of the major waterfalls get very busy and are expensive; these were quiet and free! Lovely spot in gorgeous village of West Burton which has pub serving morning coffee and then lunch. We did 6mile circular walk along river heading south which was beautiful.

Wow water
Feb 2020 • Couples
Flood water transformed the falls into ranging torrents. An easy path takes you to see the falls. Stay back for safety, for a thrilling view.

Visited after lots of rainy days, so the Falls were in full spate and very dramatic. The water was a wonderful 'Newcastle Brown Ale ' colour !

Beautiful waterfall

Absolutely beautiful waterfall and riverside walk. The river was in full flow in November after heavy rain and was spectacular. Little ancient packhorse bridge to the other side of the river. Don't miss the lovely detail on the iron railings

Beautiful Location - Missing Parrot Anafi Drone.
Oct 2019
Been staying in Aysgarth for three nights and took loads of aerial photos of various waterfalls and scenery across Wensleydale. Called in at Cauldron Falls on the way home and took a last few images for the collection.
Glanced from the controller to the drone only to see it fall approximately 60m either into the water itself or the bank nearby - either way couldn't find it.
If anyone finds it, I'd either love it back but would especially be grateful for the memory card in it, under the battery. It has all my aerial images still on it.

Cauldron Falls is a beautiful spot however. I did manage to get some photos with the normal camera.
