No one wanted to go with me, so after reading about it and the great views,I did this hike solo. Halfway up, I thought it was ominous that this hike starts in a graveyard. I’m in good shape for age 65, but that was an...More

Lovely valley view within easy reach of downtown. It's just a little over an hour round-trip. Slight discomfort with armed guard warning us to not stay too long up there (?!) but it was fine. Paved and cement steps nearly the entire way. Only short...More

We waited until after dark to make the long drive up the mountain to see the beautiful cross overlooking the lights of Jinotega. Although it was misting and a little chilly, we stayed as long as we could. Be sure to bring a flashlight, as...More

There as stairs almost all the way up, be prepared for a steep walk and bring water ;) I'm told it's possible to drive there, not sure how. We walked through the cemetery and up the road from the back to get to the path....More

This was a great hike, it is about 1000 steps to the top. After the paved steps there is a gravel potion up top and little further to get to the cross. Bring water and good shoes. You may need to stop a couple of...More

Unfortunately got a cloudy day when I climbed up to la cruz but it was still a very nice hike. You pass through a cemetary on the way up and get nice views all the way to the top. There's a gazebo on the top...More

This was a great hike. We managed fine with a 2yo (who was in the carrier some of the time obviously), a 7yo, and both of us have some health issues affecting mobility. We just took our time and lots of rests. The view from...More

This is a 1,000 step trail. It has cement steps to almost the very top. The last part of the trail isn't paved, but it isn't any harder than all those steps. I'm 56 and I could do it, but it was for sure a...More

There are a lot of steps, but if you take it slow I guess everyone can do this :) it took me just under an hour in normal pace with breaks (I'm 31). I would say that if your knees are good then go for it. And yes bring... More
