Historical site that could explain how important was this area in the glorious past....but not now. Very very abandoned not evaluated and with a bad management that aims to the business of the entry tickets only. What could be an interesting area of caves, graves...More

This is a small site, the theatre area is well kept and quite intact (at the time we were there, a stage had been built so obviously still used) but the rest of the ruins are overgrown and not maintained. This makes for some fun...More

Nice quiet archeological site with less of the crowds and some fun exploring to be had as some areas are a little overgrown. The hypogea/ burial sites are accessible and kids get a thrill in the dark caves. I like the freedom you get here...More

Scenic secondary roads can make this part of a day trip from Syracuse. The site is small, but it has some interesting features: the theater was being set up for events when we were there; its seating is is fairly good condition. Small, intricate necropolises...More

This is not one of the better known sites on Sicily, but has some features of interest nonetheless. The remains of the bouleterion are probably the smallest I've seen, and the theatre is not in great shape. It is used for concerts in the summer...More

OK, no Greek Temple, but just about everything else - albeit most flattened by time. Roads, quarry, ossuary chambers, intimate theater, interesting votive & great view ............ worth a rambling visit and a great lunch spot. Best, of course, would be to time a visit...More
