Wine tasting and lunch
Jul 2016 • Family
Whilst driving down past the industrial units we had our reservations about this cantina, how wrong we were? Immediately greeted by Lorenza then introduced to Frqnco who is the owner of the vineyard. The garden area is beautifully presented and maintained. We were warmly welcomed and given drinks before being taken to the vineyard at the back of the house. Franco talked passionately about the production of both Moscato and Barbera - I now know how to tell the difference between these two vines from sight.

Their family museum is small but maintained with a passion. Franco talked about the significance of each item. We then were served some apertivo and our first bottle of wine - a Chardonnay with a little bit of sparkle (very nice).

We sat down to lunch at approx 12:45 and consumed a wonderful 4 courses - antipasti, primi piatti, secondi piatti and dolce. All washed down with more Chardonnay then some barbera and finally moscato. Water was in continuous supply. Finally at a little after 15:00 we could not eat not drink a further thing! We were well fed and watered.

We left having purchased 8 bottles of wine. A fantastic day which was excellent value for money - lunch was €25/head and the wine starting at €7/bottle - we opted for the DOCG Barbera at €9/bottle.

Heart of italian wine making
Apr 2016 • Couples
La Martina in Canelli is in the heart of the Asti wine making area and apart from the stunning scenery also produces some fantastic wines. La Martina is a Family run Vineyard and Winery with wonderful hosts Christina and Maximo. Food and Wine tasing is excellent as is the small family museum put together by Christina's father who also runs the vineyard tour at the back of the winery.

Highly recommended!

What great host
Mar 2016 • Business
Christina and Maximo are such wonderful hosts. We arrived in the evening and had been dropped of by taxi. We hadn't eaten. Christina was able to find us a restaurant for us and Maximo volunteered to drive us to and from. The accommodations are very nice and like many businesses in Italy the whole family is part of the experience. From dad and his museum and wine making to momma who takes care of the breakfast detail. Thanks for the experience.

La Martina Canelli Italy
Sep 2015 • Couples
We visit La Martina in September 2015 for 5 nights. It was absolute fantastic. Christina and her family are very friendly and helpful. Great tour in the vineyard with Mr. Franco and fantastic wines they produce. The room was nice and clean. The area has a stunning view to vineyards and is perfect for relaxing, walking and biking. Canelli is a great little town and a visit to the Spumante Factory is highly recommended. Very close to Alba, Asti and Barolo.

Very Interesting Visit
Sep 2015
We visited La Martina in September 2015 with a coach tour for a wine tasting. We were not disappointed. The professor Franco was very passionate about his wine. We had a tour of the vineyard with explanations through an interpreter. Afterwards we went around the museum that Franco had collected over the years. The wine tasting was excellent along with the tasting of home produced fare from the vineyard, which you can purchase. Overall the visit was excellent. I would recommend a visit to La Marlina.

The most excellent winery in Northern Italy!
Sep 2015 • Business
The professor and his family run this excellent winery of which our groups adore. The wine is out of this world and the countryside in which it is situated in is fantastic. When in Asti, you have to HAVE TO visit ! Highly recommended!!

Fabulous Family Holiday
Aug 2015 • Family
We were give in a warm welcome by the owner Christine and her family. The breakfast consisted of continental breakfast which was enjoyed by my family. What was noticeable was the staff(Pina and Maria) always greeted you and remembered your choices such as a cappuccino. The appartments were clean and roomy. We loved the area and will be seeking to return. The reason for a 4* rather than a 5 was due to there not being any air conditioning and the temp was in 40s. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday destination.

Basic but fine
Aug 2015 • Family
They offer a short tour trough the wine yards with basic explanation about the grapes and soil by the wine professor. No explanation about wine making. No cellers/ fabric or equipment.

After that a quick visit trough the museum with artifacts of the history of wine making and the family.
The tasting had some wines witch where ok. Since i like wine aged on wood barrels the red wine was not my taste. I would consider the whites and muscat.

Diner was basic. Some antipasti, chicken with salad. Desert was good.
Taste was fine.
Price was 25 for adults and 15 for children.
For adults (men) a little more food should be provided.

During payment suggested was that because children ate and 25 was appropriate.
We did not consider this because they did not join the wine tasting and we agreed on different prices. Drinks for the children : only juice, and unfortunately not enough.

Although Christina is a great host and the bed and breakfast looks great
I would advise some improvements on the tour and diner.

Staff is very friendy. Christina's English is good.

Great vineyard tour, wine tastings and dinner
Jul 2015 • Friends
We're staying at Camillina villa in Canelli, a hidden gem in Piedmont. Our hosts organised a visit to their agratourism vineyard where we were introduced to the vines and their produce. The Chardonnay and Barbera are really nice. The wine tasting is entertaining and the finale an evening meal in the traditional Piedmont style. A wonderful time was had by all 17 of us.

Vineyard, Museum and Lunch
Sep 2014 • Friends
Fantastic day spent with family run vineyard with a most informative tour of the vines and then on to view the museum which was quite fascinating. Then home cooked lunch with home produced wine. Marvellous hospitality, food, wine and company. Very good value.
