Take a step back 60 years to a factory that time forgot. You can almost see the ghosts of the employees that left this factory one day never to return

Just one hour travel north of Stockholm you find this attraction where time stood still for many years. Pythagoras was once a world leading manufacturer of engines. Step by step the hot bulb engines came out of fashion and the production was closed down in the same tempo. The last years Pyhagoras worked with service of the engines still in... More

Pythagoras was a world leader manufacturer with their engines in the early 1900. As with many exceptional products, technology was faster in development than the factory was able to cope with. For almost 50 years, the factory was in hibernation and now it is open to the public as a museum where one could see how such a factory was... More

This is a industrial history at its best. Pythagoras factory is located about 1 hr from Stockholm . Pythagoras is a hot bulb engine factory founded in the early part of the last century. And its working, every day during summer you will see them fire up the engines and do take the guided tour its really worth it.

A visit in Norrtalje, the capitol of the archipelago in Stockholm, should include a visit at Pythagoras. The engine factory opened in 1898 and remained "as-was" until production stopped in 1979 and turned into a museum.

Went there on "Pythagoras Day" in the end of the summer, when all of the engine were running. Unforgetable!

A visit to an early 20th century engine making factory wouldn't sound like most people's idea of fun but the Pythagoras museum is a really good example of a heritage museum done well. It costs about 60 SEK (at the time of writing) which includes an audio guide available in English as well as Swedish. The audio guide is essential... More
