This little jewel can be found on an island in the middle of Buctouche. The village brings the world of Antonine Maillet to life with carefully preserved historic buildings and characters from the novels. The atmosphere is festive and musical with live stage shows going on all the time. The restaurant on site is wonderful and events like the 100... More

I only wanted to grab a bite of local culture food; I didn't have time for the whole attraction experience. They led me in past the pay ticket area and took me to the restaurant, so that's a nice thing that you can eat there without paying the attraction fee. And it was nice that you could hear the attraction's... More

We were with a tour group and received the royal treatment. We started with a buffet which was very good and with great variety. We had a guide that gave us a good idea of the Acadian history. A fiddler played music and we had a sing along. We toured the village which is a reproduction but it was fun... More

I went to Le Pays de la Sangouine with my brother and sister-in-law who live nearby. What a lovely place to go! The actors and actresses were great fun and full of knowledge about the place, the people who used to live in the area and the history. I learnt so much whilst I was there.

We had a wonderful afternoon exploring Acadian culture and music with our grandchildren. Loved the performance done by the band. It really added to the atmosphere.

A fabricated "antique" village, complete with Acadian style musicians. The food is served in the food hall in buffet style, with one fixed price. I got sick from the soup, probably made from yesterday's chicken. It was probably food poisoning, as it affected me about 8 hours later, and lasted all night. Unless you really must see a fake setting,... More

Bonne fête nationale des acadiens! I had the chance to experience the culture and pride of the Acadian people during the TinTinmarre. A loud and proud parade of colours! The walk to le pays de la sagouine was an experience. To taste the food such as the poutine râpé and la râpure (Rappie pie) was uplifting. This attraction was musical... More

If a bit of history is part of what makes a trip fulfilling then a couple of hours at this delightful tiny island is a must. You will get a taste of the history, culture and times of the early Acadian days with tons of gut wrenching laughing. They are talented historians with a knack for story telling.

I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Le Pays de La Sagouine. I really enjoyed learning about the Acadians and their culture. I definitely enjoyed the Acadian food. I will definitely come back if I am ever back in the area.
