A lot of hyperbole about this site. If you have seen Lake Louise in Canada, any of the Great Lakes in the US, or indeed Lake Carezza in Nova Lenante, this lake pales in comparison. The reviewer who said this is the most beautiful site...More

It's one of those places that looks photoshopped, but it's real. It's definitely worth a visit, but like all beautiful places that are easily accessible, it's choked with tourists. The trick is to show up at the end of the day. We arrived about 5pm...More

Easy to access and there is big parking area. We did pay 6€ for the parking. We did have a walk around the lake and it took maybe 1,5 hour. Just a amazing and beautiful place.

We decided to visit this place due to some great images we've seen in the internet. We thought it would be a hike but its nothing more than a tourist attraction right now. There are lots of parking slots right in front of the sea...More

This area is heaven on earth. The single most beautiful place I've ever seen. Perfect to take a couple of hours to walk around the lake or even rent a boat for half an hour.

Visited the lake on a nice hot summer day and we couldn't ask for more. Walked all around the lake and managed to find a space to dip our feet in the refreshing water. The walk on one side (the right) is relatively easy and...More

It´s an amazing lake in the middle of the mountains. There is a big parking lot, a bar, a restaurant...but the best thing you can do is walking around the lake. It takes 1 hour and a half making photos all the time. The path...More

I would recommend taking the public transport bus from Dobbiaco to the lake. I'm not sure about the cost as we drove. The parking alone was 6 euros ! But the lake was stunning. Everything i expected from it having seen the pictures. Bonus was...More

This is such a beautiful spot in the Dolomites! We drove up from Cortina- we had researched this lake and wanted to hike around it. We brought our picnic lunch and took photos. We had never seen such blue- green clear water. There were some...More

We were staying in the Pragser Wildsee so we were able to enjoy the lake before the crowds. To get the best photographic shots you need to be at the boathouse on the lakeside by 6.30a.m. You can then walk round the lake in an...More

Hi, I am thinking about visiting this area in mid to late May. Does anyone know what the weather is like at this time to visit the Lake and mountains? Is it easy to reach the lake if we stay in Bolzano if we rent a car to get there? Is it still too cold or warming up at that time of year? I'm hoping not to have to pack a jacket. Any insight helps. Thanks!

Best is to get off train in Welsberg/Monguelfo, and then take the bus to Lago di Brais. But, be sure that the bus runs all the way to the lake in November, by winter it stops further down the valley.
