Atmospheric. Interesting geology - known as Le Chaos because of bizarre huge boulders thrown up by volcanic action. Great paths. Very pleasant café in the forest too with wide range of beers and a bookshop.

Wonderful walks, great place to draw, tea rooms near the bottom. Very atmospheric, almost prehistoric in places. There's an amphitheatre for seasonal productions nestled in the woods.

Beautiful forest with huge smooth boulders which make for a very photogenic setting. We didn't walk the whole area but spent most of the afternoon enjoying the verdant paths. Unfortunately so did a lot of other people so it can be difficult to take photos...More

The first day we walked the forest loop, through the Chaos and up to "Arthur's Camp" (an iron age hill fort modified in the middle ages) and round in a loop. The second day we walked the upper canal path, starting behind the Mairie. We...More
