First visit

Amazing rocks and great walks. Lots of picnic spots. Really good for kids. Tricky on the stones sometimes.

Lovely crepe and refreshments in the garden with friendly service. However, need to give the garden seating a bit of a make over. Shabby Plastic chairs and tables an uneven ground, there is going to be an accident soon.

A surprisingly busy little town. Nice area, lake OK, woodland walks are very pleasant but not as tranquil as some of the blurb would suggest.

Great place, free to enter. Lovely boulder strewn forest which looks like something out of 'The Hobbit'. Huge ferns, gigantic glacial boulders covered in moss and a river running through it. Great for walking with the kids (or the dog) and genuinely breathtaking scenery. Cafe in the middle of the forest, harpists / musicians subtly playing mid season. A trembling... More

This is what Huelgoat is famous for. It is even said that they have their own " fairies". I did not see any but apparently they are there. The Foret has huge boulders that make you wonder how they got there (they are truly massive. Its a wonderful walk and not too difficult if you are slightly impaired. You can... More

Beautiful ancient forest with a network of well maintained trails. Easy parking at he trailheads so you can abandon your car and immerse yourself in the multi shades of green where shafts of sunlight penetrate the canopy to illuminate bright patches amongst the deep shadows. The huge boulders are spectacular and the sound of the bubbling stream below where we... More

This lovely forest in a regional park has a mystical aspect to it. There are huge boulders and trees covered with moss that add to the atmosphere. Just a lovely place to quiet the spirit.

Its a nice walk but a bit of a stretch to say 'awesome'. Rocks are big and have some geological history. You will find better walks nearby in the forests. All said a nice location and worth a detour.

It's a very different and spectacular place to visit, there are many forest walks and the massive rocks are quite something to see. But do wear sensible footwear as some of the paths are very uneven with rocks and roots of trees. Also it's a good idea to research which route you are going to take carefully, the signage is... Lovely walks, interesting caves, this forest is full of magic and mystery. Suitable for young and old walks there are broad paths through the wood beside the twinkling stream filled with huge boulders for the adventurous to clamber upon. Watch out for the grotte du diable, it's small with a very steep ladder. So nice to find something like this... More
