This is an amazing natural park where you can get up and close with the natural state of the Mayan peninsula while also getting access to the history and culture that pervades the entire region. In reading these reviews, it's clear our experience was significantly improved by having the right guide. If you are a family and planning a visit-... More

Sian Ka'an has several entrances but two of them are the must know. First, the Muyil entrance which is next to the Muyil Ruins. There are wonderful excursions by boat thru the green colored lagoons and then you float (bring your swimming suit) in canal, it was gorgeous. The second entrance is in Boca Pailas and all the way to... More

The one day trip was amazing! It was organised by Thomson directly from our hotel. We traveled by speedboats through mangroves. Amazing sea life, beautiful views, amazing beach. It was definitely the highlight of our trip.

The Sian Ka’an Biosphere is a 1.3-million-acre tract set aside in 1986 “to preserve tropical forests, savannas, mangroves, coastal and marine habitats and 70 miles of coastal reefs.” It is located about ten kilometers south of the ruins at Tulum along QRO 15. Guide books describe the road through the Biosphere, stretching 50 KM along the Punta Allen Peninsula, as... More

I was told that this is where we would find "virgin beaches" which excited me as my favourite beaches are undeveloped with no facilities and typically due to this - no people! We drove through the park entrance from Tulum and had to pay $31 peso park fee - happy to do so to protect the park. We then drove... More

I went on this trip on my own, booked through my hotel. It didn't bother me being on my own, everyone was very nice, and helpful! Our guide Ricardo told us to leave our troubles behind, and I achieved this! For me it was just a beautiful trip! We saw everything!! A turtle, crocodile, manatee, pelicans, and a family of... More

This has to be one of the most amazing things everyone should be able to do. The contact with nature is incredible and you will get to see different kinds of animals that live in the reserve. Don't forget the snorkeling.

we rented a car to go there. The road is really nice, plenty of iguanas, pelicans, herons, etc. The entry to the natural park is also cheap. After 60 km you will arrive to Puerto Allen. When we were reading stuff to go there, everything we read was talking about "take food with you, is nothing there" or "is no... More

We booked this trip through Thomsons as our rep was so enthusiastic about it. We were not disappointed. The tour is lead by enthusiastic and informative guides. You speed through the mangroves in small boats spotting all sorts of creatures and wild birds en-route. We saw crocodiles, manatees, dolphins, and turtles, snorkelled on the reef and swam in the most... More

I booked this tour at the resort, it was organised through Amazing Caribbean Tours. It started ok with the 07:00 pick up from the hotel, we were then taken to a local restaurant car park where we transferred onto a converted safari lorry. It went downhill from there. What followed was the most horrendous 90 min journey to Punta Allen... More
