The Lampi Island Marine National Park is a demarcated marine national park located in Lampi Island Mergui Archipelago, Myanmar. The typical habitats are coral reefs, tropical evergreen, forest and mangroves. There are also beach and dune habitats, as well as sea grass beds which feed the dugongs. When I visited Lampi Marine National Park last May, 2016, I met with the wardens from Ministry of Conservation Environment and Forestry. They camped out on a far end of the village started by the Mokens called Ma Gyone Galet.

I have to say, the Mergui Archipelago is a strangely beautiful place. A spectacular beach from afar is, upon closer inspection, wears a necklace of debris and aside from the random bird or butterfly sighting, no tangible sense of fauna.
