We were undecided about the Botanical gardens but were persuaded by our Tuk Tuk driver. He was certain this was better than the tea factory. We've done Kew so werent convinced this could be better but it was. Now we like flowers well enough but aren't natural gardeners so expectations were low. We do, however like people watching, understanding other... More

A must see in Kandy, these gardens are amazing. A collection of local and international trees and plants across a vast area. The only way to see it properly is on one of the electric buggies with a gardens guide to explain the layout and the significance of each area. Especially impressive were the two main avenues of giant trees,... More

This is a beautiful place. Shady walks under specimen trees, well tended flower beds and rockerie and a great map to show you around. In the centre is a large green area and it was a pleasure to see hundreds of local schoolchildren enjoying nature.. When you need a rest there is a nice small restaurant that looks put over... More

Excellent and extensive gardens, with many plant species and massive bat colonies. You can easily spend 2 hours there just walking around the place. Even though it attracts lots of people (both locals and foreigners), it never feels crowded.

Lot of beautiful flowers and trees, beautiful garden and it was worth to visit. But if you don't know different kind of flowers or trees or where to go there, a professional guide should be taken with you.

Was very nice and well laid out. Enjoyed the suspension bridge and orchid area. The bats were intense as there were thousands hanging from the trees- glad they were sleeping!

This is a must-see place for keen gardeners and casual tourists alike. Beatifully laid out, not too large, can see it all in about 4 hours. Peaceful, beautiful and inspiring. Just beware of the large bat colony in the north-west corner - my wife got bombed! An umbrella is advised.

The tourist entry is expensive, but we spent several hours wandering around and exploring nature. We'd recommend to buy water at shop right outside the entrance (they sell it for the recommended retail price there), as it can get very hot walking around in the gardens under the sun. The garden itself is well-tended and clean. The plants could use... More

This has become one of my favourite botanical gardens I've visited. Different kinds of plants, trees, flowers in different styles. Just wow !
